2. Zoos dress animals up as other animals

One Chinese zoo was caught dressing animals up as other, more ‘impressive animals’ and came under fire for its poor treatment of animals. Images surfaced of a Tibetan mastiff dog posed as an African lion and sea cucumbers as snakes.

The zoo officials were forced to apologise and explained how they came to the decision as they were strapped for cash. Angry visitors were, unsurprisingly, not fooled by the disguises and protested against the poor treatment of the animals that were forced to live in squalid conditions.

One mum said:

“I had my young son with me so I tried to play along and told him it was a special kind of lion.

“But then the dog barked and he knew straight away what it was and that I’d lied to him.”
