15. Littlefinger’s death

Petyr Baelish (Littlefinger) was perhaps the most devious man that Westeros had ever seen. He lied, deceived and manipulated his way to power.

He always wanted the Iron Throne

His most destructive plot involved inciting House Lannister and House Stark into conflict. This conflict destroyed countless other famous houses, and brought Westeros to its knees.

He was also responsible for the deaths of Jon and Lysa Arryn, and Ned Stark (through his betrayal).

Petyr’s desire for Sansa was his undoing

Of course, Petyr claimed that he had always loved Catelyn Stark. He therefore took it upon himself to try and protect Sansa – her daughter – but ultimately betrayed her too.

During series 7, Petyr became surrounded on all sides by the Stark family. He finally met his match when he tried to turn Sansa and her sister Arya against each other.

A bloody end

Petyr had clearly taught Sansa too well – she saw right through his schemes and enlisted Arya to help her bring him to justice. Petyr begged for his life – a sight many of us thought never to see – but was ultimately unsuccessful. Arya, now a talented assassin, slit his throat and stopped him from wrecking anymore families. So much for that.
