Kylie Jenner Net Worth: Is She ‘Self-Made’?
What is Kylie Jenner’s net worth, where did it come from and is it ‘self-made’?
You better be fully-trained in cardio if you’re going to have any hope of keeping up with the Kardashians.
With fashion lines, make up ranges, underwear and reality shows, it is no surprise that these ladies have a fair few dollars to their name.
But funnily enough the richest of the klan is the youngest; 21-year-old Kylie Jenner.
Who Is She?
Kylie Jenner is the youngest member of the Kardashian Jenner family, heavily prominent on social media and best known for her lip kits.
Thrust into the limelight at just 10 years old on US reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kylie has been in the limelight ever since her debut.
In the 10 years since making her first appearance, Kylie has become quite the Cosmetic Queen, has given birth to daughter Stormi and has racked up a billion bucks. Not too shabby…
Kylie even beat out Facebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg who was a billionaire at age 23.
The 21-year-old even landed second place on Forbes’ top highest paid celebrities, just behind Taylor Swift in first place.
Is The Billion Self-Made?
The devil works hard but Kris Jenner works harder.
Kylie’s billion dollars is being put down to her 100% control of Kylie Cosmetics as well as her hard work and creativity. Well the financial fruit of success is definitely down to one woman but rather than Kylie, is it more down to momager Kris Jenner?
Kris Jenner, mom and manager to her children, pitched the idea for Keeping Up With The Kardashians to Ryan Seacrest back in 2007.

Then, Kim’s sex tape with Kay J was leaked to world.
“When I first heard about Kim’s tape, as her mother, I wanted to kill her,”
“But as her manager, I knew that I had a job to do.”
Just what my mum would say… not.
It wasn’t until Kylie and Kendall were teens that their momager started getting them sponsorship deals. Kylie worked with Puma, Topshop, Pacsun and founded the Kendall + Kylie fashion line with her sister.
She Used Her Own Money To Fund The Lip Kits
Then when Kylie turned 17, she used $250,000 of her earnings to create the first of her lip kits. As the money was all her own, she became the sole owner of Kylie Cosmetics as well as the CEO and chief marketing officer.
The mogul didn’t have to seek any out other funding unlike most other business entrepreneurs which allowed her to keep full control of her business and money. Hence, the ‘self-made’ title.
After the controversy over the ‘self-made’ title, Kylie admitted to The New York Times:
“I can’t say I’ve done it by myself. If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
If not for this, she might not have become a billionaire. In turn, she might not have have had the funding in the first place if not for her famous family… Is she ‘self made’? You decide.
Why Lip Kits?
In 2014, a year before the lips came into existence, the rumours began that the Kylie had had lip fillers.
As cosmetic surgery is pretty much a right of passage for the Kardashian members, it’s unsurprising that few people believed Kylie when she denied the claims.
“Just in case anyone forgot..I’m 16”
Unsurprisingly, the rumours continued to thrive and so Kylie took to twitter once more:
“How long are we gonna talk about this lip thing lmao. Let’s get our lives together guys and talk about some important sh*t. Just talk about something new at least.”
She said that any changes in her lips were due either due to puberty, contouring, or lipliner.
A year later, she admitted to having lip injections on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Where Has Her Billion Come From?
Where Does The Money Come From?
Keeping Up With The Kardashians
The Kardashian family earn a whopping $30 million per SEASON from the show collectively.
It’s not known whether that sum is shared out equally or whether certain family members bag a larger share.
Kylie lip kits started selling in 2015 at a price of $29. She used $250,000 of her earnings from her modelling jobs to pay for the production of her first 15,000 lip kits.
After launching a distribution deal with Ulta, it was estimated that she sold $55 million worth of products in just SIX weeks.
In 2018, it is estimated that Kylie sold an estimated $360 million worth of Kylie Cosmetics.
Kylie’s skin line is worth at least $900 million and Miss Jenner owns 100% of the company.
With 142 million followers, Kylie charges $1 million per sponsored Instagram post.

Life Of Kylie
The OG show Keeping Up With The Kardashians actually generated NINE spin-off shows.
One of these was an 8-part series about Kylie Jenner.
What Are Her Future Plans?
It has been rumoured that Kylie might be launching her own baby care line.
Filing for trademarks “Kylie Baby” and “Kylie Baby By Kylie Jenner” could we see Kylie Jenner’s net worth soar even more by next year?
Having been absent from the public eye and even missing from the Kardashian Christmas pics in 2017, followers soon suspected that Kylie was attempting to hide a pregnancy from the world.
Then, low and behold, a video appeared documenting her pregnancy journey. A video which has now been viewed more than 85.5 million times.
Much of Kylie’s money is spent on her daughter Stormi. She bought a $820 Gucci baby carrier and a $12,500 Fendi pram. Naturally.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend and rapper Travis Scott bought Stormi a $2,589 Louis Vuitton handbag… before Stormi was even one year old!

The baby then even had a “StormiWorld” amusement park-themed party for her first birthday. Louis Vuitton bags? Theme parks? Is it wrong to be jealous of a one-year-old?
What’s Her Relationship Status?
Kylie and Tyga met at her older sister’s 16th birthday party in 2011. Kylie was just 14 at the time and as it was shown on KUWTK, people suspected that Kylie was flirting with the rapper.
In 2014, the pair started appearing in Instagram posts together.
Tyga broke up with his fiancée and baby mama Blac Chyna. YES. The same Blac Chyna that Rob then had a baby with. Anyway…
Their relationship was confirmed in 2015. Engagement rumours swirled but in April 2018, the couple called it quits just two months after their daughter was born.
