It’s safe to say that comedian Susan Calman is doing fairly well for herself these days. Not only is she a comedian, writer and presenter, but she is also an actress and award winner- and she’s even appeared on Strictly!

But it seems that Susan isn’t the only talented one in her relationship. Spouse Lee Cormack certainly gives Susan a run for her money, and earns her success by working as a high-flying lawyer.

So what do we know about the pair, and how long have they been together for?

Love and marriage

Susan Calman and Lee Cormack were together for nine years before they decided to tie the knot.

After meeting in 2002, the pair both worked together as lawyers- which Lee Cormack still does to this day.

They had an intimate civil partnership ceremony back in 2012, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The couple also went on to have an official marriage in 2016.

Showing off her new wife on Twitter, Lee Cormack wrote:

“My favourite picture of her indoors and her wife. Need to teach @SusanCalman how to use a pen properly though.”

Speaking about their wedding and civil partnership ceremony, Susan gushed:

“They were two of the happiest days of my life. And, yes, being married does make a difference.

I don’t like it when people say it’s just a bit of paper. Not to me it isn’t.”

Dermot O’Leary Wife: Who is his partner Dee Koppang?

While American-born Lee continues to take on high-profile cases, Susan began to find that her interests lay elsewhere.

Becoming dissatisfied with her career, she decided to pursue comedy at the age of 30.

Susan is a regular guest on Radio 4 and has appeared on The News Quiz, Now Show, and So Wrong It's Right among others, as well as hosted Woman's House and Listomania.

As if this wasn’t enough, she has also appeared as a TV panellist on Have I Got News For You, Mock The Week, QI, Pointless Celebrities, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Would I Lie To You.

While Susan was busy hitting the big time, wife Lee Cormack has been quietly working in the background to earn her fortunes- and she’s now estimated to be work between £1-5 million.

Combined with Susan’s wealth, the power couple have amassed a HUGE £57 million.

The pair now happily work alongside each other at their lush Glasgow home, surrounded by their cuddly cats.

The couple have five furry friends in total, including Pickle, Daisy Fay Harper, Olivia Pope, Dr. Abigail Bartlet and DCI Jane Tennison.

It sounds like domestic bliss!

Challenges

However, things haven’t always been easy for the pair.

While Lee Cormack has generally stayed quiet on when talking about her sexuality, Susan has been much more candid.

Chatting with The Guardian about her time growing up as a lesbian in Glasgow, Susan said:

"It wasn't easy, not at all. Glasgow is a lovely city, but when I was growing up there was one lesbian bar, and there was a club for men, but there was no internet, there was no way of finding out [about other people]… it wasn’t a very good time”.

Is Nick Grimshaw gay?

Unfortunately, Susan has received a lot of homophobic abuse over the years, and has been labelled a “fat dyke” while performing on stage.

And the trolls just kept coming after Susan Calman when she starred in BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

While wife Lee Cormack cheered her on, social media had erupted with vile comments.

Jonathan Ross Wife: What do we know about Jane Goldman?

But despite the abuse, Susan and Lee have continued to keep their heads held high, and have ignored the haters.

Taking to Twitter, Susan wrote:

“Noticed that someone called me a "fat *** *******" on Twitter. That won't stop me dancing. It's the reason I'm doing Strictly”.

Good for you Susan!
