8, Orlando Bloom was hired just out of acting school
Orlando Bloom is of course a famous name around the world these days. He’s starred in many films.
He’s starred in Pirates of the Caribbean
But, like almost all actors, he studied at drama school. Most graduates don’t expect to land a break-out role immediately – if ever.

But Orlando Bloom was particularly lucky with his career. Just two days after graduating from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, he was cast as Legolas.
He was just out of acting school
Playing the character of Legolas in such a huge film series was a serious commitment.

Fortunately, Bloom had a lot of support along the way from his fellow cast-mates, including fellow elf Liv Tyler (Arwen).
He was very lucky
Who knows what it was like for young Orlando Bloom, fresh out of acting school, to be on such a huge film set? But he wasn’t afraid to do the majority of his own stunts along the way!
