Jacob Pechenik is a high-flying Hollywood producer, but he’s probably still better known for his short-lived marriage with Zooey Deschanel.
The couple ended up having two children during their time together, but things quickly fell apart between the couple.

Jacob Pechenik has worked as a producer on a huge number of films over the years.
According to IMDb, Jacob’s producing credits include Anthony Hopkins film Solace, as well as The Immigrant and Skeleton Twins.
Before he entered the film industry, the producer was actually working on a tech start-up company called Tech Trader Company.
Here he designed enterprise software for direct materials markets, and eventually sold his business and software shares to set up his own film production company.

Alongside his producing work, Jacob Pechenik also ended up starting a company with former wife Zooey Deschanel; known as The Farm Project, the couple aimed to help people grow crops and build farmer’s relationships.
Relationship Timeline
While they seemed to share the same values, things weren’t meant to last between Jacob and Zooey.
They originally got together while working on the 2015 movie Rock the Kasbah. The New Girl star later converted to Judaism for Jacob when they got married, which was just a few months after they started dating.

Predictably, rumours started buzzing about the cause of the split, but apparently things were amicable between the pair.
In their official statement, Zooey and Jacob said:
“After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners.
We remain committed to our business, our values and most of all our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time.”
The parents decided on joint custody for their children Charlie and Elsie.
Jacob Pechenik later opened up on the divorce, and spoke candidly to HollywoodLife:
“Yeah, everything is amicable, and we have two beautiful children together. We’ve been raising them and we’re going to continue to raise them, and take great care of them… I’m happy”.
Zooey quickly moved on to Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott, who she met on the set of Carpool Karaoke in August 2019.
Former Wife
While Jacob focuses on his producing work, ex-wife Zooey Deschanel is continuing to build her empire.
While she doesn’t appear in front of the camera as often as she used to, she’s progressed to working as a producer on the likes of New Girl.
