Alex Jones Husband: The TV Presenter’s Private Life Revealed

Welsh presenter Alex Jones has been a mainstay of our TV screens for years. Whether you’ve seen her on The One Show or that one season of Strictly Come Dancing (she finished 5th), you’ve probably been charmed by her upbeat personality.

As a TV host, you expect Alex to be chatty, but one area she doesn’t talk much about is her private family life. So, what do we know about Alex Jones’ husband?

Well, let’s find out…

Who is Alex Jones’ Husband?

Alex Jones is married to Charlie Thomson, an insurance broker. Though you might assume he’s British, Charlie is actually a born-and-bred New Zealander.

The two met in 2011 at a party and Charlie proposed in February 2015. They married on New Year’s Eve that same year, in a stunning ceremony at Cardiff Castle. Yes – we mean the castle itself. They had their ceremony in the 15th-century castle, and a reception afterward in the 18th-century library and dining room.

Alex wore a dress designed by Sassi Holford, and Charlie couldn’t resist gushing about how beautiful his new wife looked.

He said: “She looked absolutely stunning. I couldn’t stop smiling.”

The pair celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in 2020, with Alex commemorating the occasion with a lovely message on Instagram along with a throwback photo from their wedding.

She said: “The first, the best day of our lives with all our family and friends and 5 years later a much more low key affair, but no less important as we recognised a milestone and how especially lucky we are to have survived the last year despite what 2020 threw at us all.”

Does Alex Jones Have Children?

If you’re wondering if the 45-year-old presenter has children with her husband Charlie, the answer is yes. In fact, over the last five years, Alex and Charlie have been busy creating a little family of 5!

Their first son Teddy was born in 2017, followed by Kit in 2019. Finally, they completed their family with a daughter called Annie, born in August 2021.

Alex revealed the news of her daughter’s birth on Instagram, saying: “Tiny, but perfectly formed we are all beyond happy and besotted by her, especially Ted and Kit.

Watching them with their brand new little sister is just the best and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have the 3 of them and to be a family of 5. It still doesn’t feel real!!!”

Emma Paton: What Do We Know About The Sky Sports Presenter?

Alex Jones has spoken openly about the fact that she didn’t think she would ever have a daughter.

She said: “We both said how amazing three boys would be. Then when we opened the email which told us what sex the baby was, [Charlie’s] little face was a picture.

We were too scared to say it, but I think we both felt the same. We both secretly thought it would be amazing if it was a girl. It’ll be really interesting to see the different dynamics.”

Parenthood

Alex is clearly having the time of her life raising her three little ones, but that doesn’t come without its difficulties, too. The presenter went back to The One Show six months after having baby Annie and made clear that she was anxious.

Alex admitted: “My husband Charlie [is] on paternity and I need to learn to let go a bit of things at home. Let him do it his way. [It’s] tricky.”

Co-presenter Jermaine mentioned that she didn’t sound very happy about leaving Charlie in charge, to which Alex played it cool, saying “No, no, no, it’s all good. A little bit anxious, but yeah it’s fine.”

Alison Hammond Husband: Is the TV Presenter Married?

But Alex wasn’t entirely relaxed during her maternity leave, either. In one Instagram picture from December 2021, she said how happy she was to be invited to the TRICawards.

Alex explained that she chose to bring her baby daughter Annie along to the awards with her – and that some people were shocked by this.

She said: We had a great time and even though some people were pretty shocked to see that I’d brought a baby, Annie had a fab time at her first Christmas lunch and loved all the attention.”
