Perri Diversity: What Is The Britain’s Got Talent Star Doing Now?

When Diversity stepped on the Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2009, viewers knew they were something special.

However, it was young Perri Kiely who drew the most attention. With his unmissable afro and skill for backflips, he was the little star of the group’s first audition.

Unsurprisingly, Diversity went on to win Britain’s Got Talent, and since then Perri from Diversity has had a varied career, encompassing dance, presenting, and reality TV.

So what is Perri Diversity doing now?

What is Perri Diversity Up To Now?

In fact, Perri now has a successful career as a radio host.

Starting from August 2020, Perri Diversity has been hosting the Kiss FM Breakfast show every morning with his dance mate Jordan Banjo – brother to Diversity leader Ashley Banjo.

So far, the show has been a huge success. Perri Diversity’s show won the award for Best New Show at The Radio Academy Audio & Radio Industry Awards. The awards ceremony was also hosted by Perri and Jordan.

Speaking about their show, which blends entertainment with serious discussion, Ashley said: “Of course, we want to get everyone’s day started right. We want everyone to have a good time and start off in a good place.

But at the same time, there’s a lot going on in the world. I think that’s a big part of our show, and what Kiss allows us to do is just be 100% real. So when those issues [of racism and diversity] are about, like they are, I feel like you have to really go out of your way to avoid them.”

Outside of his work on radio, Perri is still dancing with his Diversity mates. This summer, he joined Ashley and Jordan Banjo to perform a new choreographed performance at selected Butlins resorts.

Britain’s Got Talent

Perri rose to fame with Diversity in 2009. In their first audition, they performed a creative dance that gave us a first look at what Diversity was all about: entertainment, humour, and courageous street dance.

They auditioned in London, and immediately wowed the judges. After their performance, Amanda Holden said: “Just when I think I’ve seen it all, you came on.”

They ended up going through to the semi-finals with Susan Boyle, where they came up against fellow dance troupe act Flawless.

However, both Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden thought Diversity were better than Flawless. Going into the final, Susan Boyle was the favourite to win. However, in shock results from the public vote, Diversity took the trophy.

After Britain’s Got Talent, the troupe performed at various festivals across the UK as well as on TV in the U.S.

Who is Perri Diversity Dating?

Perri from Diversity is currently dating Laura Smith, who works in TV production.

The pair actually met when Perri was a contestant on the 2019 series of Dancing on Ice. Laura worked behind the scenes on the show.

Though they went on a few dates that year, they didn’t go public until August 2020.

The Diversity dancer has previously tried to find love on the E4 show Celebs Go Dating. His previous beaus have included Love Island star Amber Davies.

The 24-year-old announced his new romance with Laura on his Kiss Breakfast show, slyly revealing to Jordan that his partner can’t dance.

Who are the Other Members?

When Diversity auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, the group consisted of 13 members. They were led by choreographer Ashey Banjo.

The group included four sets of brothers – including Ashley and Jordan Banjo.

Out of the 13 incredible dancers, only a few have found fame after their win.

Ashley Banjo regularly presents dance competition shows on TV and is also a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice. Aside from presenting his radio show, his brother Jordan also appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016.

The rest of the members still perform with the dance troupe, and the group are scheduled to head off on tour next year.
