Jenny And Lee Gogglebox: Everything You Need To Know

Jenny and Lee from Gogglebox are two of our favourites on the show, but what do we know about the pair in real life?

Friday nights at 9pm, we settle in on our sofas to watch our favourite Goggleboxers giving their witty opinions on all the latest television from First Dates to Killing Eve

The reality TV show has gone from strength to strength, even igniting a celebrity version with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Emily Atack and Little Mix appearing.

Gogglebox’s classic bunch showcases the likes of Pete and Sophie, Giles and Mary and the Siddiqui family, however, we unquestionably have a soft spot for friends Jenny Newby and Lee Riley as their straight-talking responses have us giggling along with them every week.

Beyond the screen, just who are the duo from Hull? We’ve gathered all the interesting info about the northern pals including how they met and how they joined the series.

Jenny Was A Landlady

Jenny and Lee have been friends for over 21 years, meeting in a pub called The Crown Inn.

Whilst Jenny was the landlady, Lee was a regular customer and since meeting, they’ve been solid mates for life. So much so that Lee even refers to Jenny as family rather than a friend.

They even holiday abroad together!

Jenny Was Asked To Join Gogglebox At A Horse Racing Event

It was Jenny who was to asked appear on the show after she found herself chinwagging to two of the Gogglebox researchers at Beverley Races Ladies’ Day. After divulging to them how much of a fan she was, the researchers asked her to appear on the Channel 4 show.

Of course, Jenny asked her partner in crime, Lee, to join her but he took some convincing.

He said:

“To be honest and I didn’t want to do it. I’d say it took her about an hour and a half to talk me into it…”

It’s a relief to many that he was eventually persuaded as the two together are like peas in a pod.
