When you know a film is set to be a banging success – which Harry Potter obviously was – it makes sense that you’d want to choose A-List Hollywood actors to draw the crowds and give it that extra ooomph! So it’s no surprise that some American stars were considered to be part of the Harry Potter franchise, including Robin Williams for the role of Hagrid!?! (No. It just HAD to be Robbie Coltrane). Rarely does an American successfully pull of British accent and there’s nothing better than an authentic British twang – oh Hugh Grant, we love you… Luckily J.K Rowling was adamant about keeping an all British cast. And so Liam Aiken was cast out in favour of Daniel Radcliffe.
