We all loved this guy with his hound dog (who never moved an inch) who he called “Flash”!
Therefore, the hound dog was a great addition!
Also, this sheriff was always involved in something corrupt with the county commissioner, Boss Hogg.

He never gave up on the idea that he was going to get those Duke boys – even though he never did.
Here he is trying to motivate his hound dog “Flash”.
Obviously, it’s not working and that was the whole point. Even so, he was always there trying to motivate him.

One of our favorite things about him was how he would say his own name on the CB radio, in full, “This is Rosco P. Coltrane” – but we all know that it was in the WAY he said it!

Despite his character being a bit corrupt, he seemed to take great pride in his job.
