Maria Fowler Pregnant: TOWIE Star To Become Mum Of Two
TOWIE star Maria Fowler announced she is pregnant just as lockdown was announced. A mum to three year old Evie already, how is the reality star coping with her second pregnancy?

Maria Fowler’s Rise To Fame…
Maria first made a name for herself when she appeared on The Only Way Is Essex‘s first three seasons. Originally a supporting cast member, the beauty quickly become one of the most popular stars on the show. She left in 2011, only a year after filming for the tv series first started filming.
The reality star has kept herself busy since leaving however. One look at her Instagram bio shows us the multiple businesses that she runs, including a property business in home county Derbyshire. She has documented the renovation of her own house on Insta too, which is fascinating to watch.
She also runs a website for her cosmetics company Fresh Face, selling makeup brushes. If that wasn’t enough, she blogs about her home and family life too.
The Baby’s Father…
The father to Maria’s second child is husband Kelvin Batey. The Essex star married her beau secretly in July 2019. Maria shared the news of their marriage to fans the day after, showing off their wedding rings to the camera on her Instagram Stories.
The pair were already parents to daughter Evie, who they are besotted with. Their experience of parenthood has been a prominent feature on Maria’s Insta, including teaching the three year old how to ride a bike while in lockdown.

Evie’s Birth…
Fowler has been open about Evie’s difficult birth. She gave birth in September 2016, but suffered major complications which put her life at risk. She had to have a C-section which she really hoped would not be needed. But Evie changed position which meant the procedure was necessary.
If that wasn’t scary enough, the local anaesthetic was not working. As the surgeon was about to make the incision, Maria made it clear that she could still feel it. After she was given more anaesthetic which still did not work, husband Kelvin was forced to leave theatre and Maria was put under general anaesthetic instead.
What made things worse was the fact that she lost almost half her body’s amount of blood. She was in serious danger.
Since the birth Maria has discussed how hard it was. What was supposed to be some of the best moments of her life was ruined by fear and recovery from surgery. She felt like a failure of mum due to the difficult recovery she had to endure.

We really hope that the birth of her second child will be a lot smoother than Evie’s.
The Pregnancy Announcement…
Mrs Fowler shared the happy news that she was expecting her second child on her Instagram just as the UK’s lockdown came into effect. She posted a beautiful photo of her family of three, with Evie holding a sign reading “Big Sister”. The caption read “In a world full of bad news… 👶🏻”, acknowledging the feeling of dread and anxiety as the country locked down.
A month later, the star also shared she was having a baby girl. She posted a photo of a gleeful Evie with rose gold balloons behind reading “It’s a Girl”.

She has been providing us with photos of her growing bump. With just over three months to go, there is still a wait before we can meet baby number two. Maria has said that she isn’t struggling with pregnancy symptoms except a tender bump.
Hopefully her pregnancy continues to run smoothly and the birth will be a lot easier than the first.
