The singer recently sat down with The Edge NZ and spoke out about how he was feeling seeing his old flame – 22-year-old singer Paige Turley – looking for love once again.

The Couple Met While They Were Both Studying At A Music College In Motherwell
Paige said on the relationship:
‘Lewis Capaldi is my ex-boyfriend. We went out when we were younger, I was about 17 or 18. We were together for about a year. It ended really amicably and we’re still pals.’

Lewis Capaldi Ex Girlfriend Paige ‘Never Told Me She Was Going On It’
23-year-old Scottish singer songwriter Lewis Capaldi revealed that his former girlfriend hadn’t actually told him that she was set to appear on Love Island but said:
‘I mean, fair play, good luck to her.’
It turns out that the pair have known each for quite some time, with Lewis dishing the dirt on the couple’s relationship:
‘I’ve known her for years. I was 18 when we first met, 19 when we started going out and 20 when we finished going out. It was very amicable, the split.’

Although he said her telling him she was entering the villa would have been ‘a nice heads up’, he seemed only full of support for Paige:
‘I’ll be f***ing watching it! Aye, I’ll be watching it and going “Go on Paige! Come on, come on!” And when she’s on a date with a boy I’ll go “Come on! Kiss him!” I hope she wins.’
Of course, he had to get a few sly jokes in there too…
‘The prize is like £50,000, and I’ll be like “Well, listen, they asked you to go on it, right? I’m not saying I’m the reason but also … slide me two grand.’
Who Is Lewis Capaldi’s Ex Girlfriend Paige Turley?
Love Island contestant Paige Turley first came to public attention after she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent back in 2012 when she was just a 14-year-old schoolgirl.

Paige, who is from West Lothian in Scotland, performed Bon Iver’s ‘Skinny Love’. Judges David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon were all blown away by her vocals with big boss Simon Cowell even giving her the thumbs up.
He told her:
‘I think you are absolutely fantastic – I really do. You have a really, really interesting, unique voice. I really, really like you.’
Alesha Dixon said:
‘I love the way you have such control over your voice – I think you should be really proud of that performance and your family should be proud.’
After a head to head battle with Latin Ballroom dancing duo Natalia and Kai, Paige unfortunately lost her place in the competition.
What Came After BGT…
With the hopes of becoming a successful recording artist, Paige continued to work towards her dream. She went on to study music at the University of the West of Scotland where she learned to play the guitar, piano and percussion.
Paige has also reportedly been part of a pop group known as ‘G-Side’ who have performed at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro Arena.

Was Peter Capaldi’s Ex Girlfriend Paige The Inspiration For Hit Single ‘Someone You Loved’?
Paige speculated that Lewis Capaldi’s chart-topping song ‘Someone You Loved’ was actually about her and there have been reports that suggest the reality star is telling the truth.
The Scottish Sun reported a source saying:
‘Shes’ the girl. The song and his album [divinely uninspired to a hellish extent] is clearly inspired by love and he loved her – he really did.
‘Paige dated Lewis while they were both at college from around 2014 to 2016. It’s funny that his songs now mean so much to so many. But the real story behind it is boy meets girl.’

We doubt Lewis will ever reveal who the inspiration is and the singer has kept the identity of the mysterious woman a secret. When asked about his broken heart, the singer simply said:
‘I met a lady. She was very nice. I loved her. I loved the look of her and I loved how she spoke. We dated for a year and a half, then she left me. Then I wrote an album about it and I still think about it every day.’

Lewis Capaldi Ex Girlfriend Paige Revealed that She Didn’t Think Her Famous Ex Would Mind Her Being On The Show
She said:
‘I think Lewis will find the fact I’m on the show funny. You never know, he might even vote.
‘Me and Lewis are still very, very friendly. You’ve seen his social media. He’s a very witty, funny guy, so he’ll probably make a total joke about it.’
Paige was previously coupled up with fellow islander Ollie Williams, although the pair ran into a few hurdles after it was revealed that Ollie had cheated on an ex-girlfriend ‘eight or nine times’.

Ollie has since left the Love Island villa after the admission that he was ‘still in love with his ex-girlfriend’. The wealthy landowner – whose father apparently owns a beach in Cornwall – said that it wouldn’t be right if he continued his Love Island journey.
‘I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else… I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.
‘At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it’s about finding love. If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn’t be fair on them.’
Viewers, however, are not convinced this is the genuine reason for Ollie’s sudden departure, after photos circulated of the star trophy hunting. A petition with 35,000 signatures was released to get him booted off the romantic reality show.
This has led many to believe that Ollie was forced to leave the villa but used the ‘ex-girlfriend’ story as a cover up. Reportedly, animal rights activists have since targeted the family home, prompting the employment of 24-hour security guards.
