Last August, we were hit with the news that TOWIE’s Lydia Bright had not only parted ways with her boyfriend of two years Lee Cronin, but that she was expecting her first baby.
The pair faced a roller-coaster of a year in 2019 as they split in January (for the second time) and reunited in April, only to break-up again in August. How Did Lydia Meet Lee?
Lydia revealed that the former couple met because of her sister, Georgia.
Lydia said of her older sibling: “It was her, we were on a night out and Georgia pulled him back to the after party and we ended up hitting it off.”
She added: “I wasn’t looking to meet anyone, he wasn’t looking to meet anyone. I just felt like I’d known him forever, we just fell in love with one another so quickly.”
The pair seemed so happy and in love, with Lydia explaining:
“I’m very very happy, it’s hard to know exactly how long we’ve been together because you don’t really have the boyfriend girlfriend chat when you’re older.”

They Kept Their Relationship Private…

Although they were together for a long time, Lydia and Lee only went public with their relationship a year down the line. Lydia explained:
“I kept it very quiet for a while, because we were dating and he was unsure how it was going to work out.
“When he met me he knew what I did, and he was just a little bit nervous as he lives a private life and has a business, he didn’t want it to impact that.”
She added: “He didn’t want people not to take him seriously so it was a slow progression.”

When Did Lydia And Lee Break Up For Good?
The pair called things off for a third and final time in August 2019, Lydia shared an image on Instagram, with the caption:
“Sometimes relationships don’t work out but having time away to reflect on how lucky I am in my life, what I have achieved and who I have around me fills my heart with so much love. Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same. Here is to my next chapter”

When Did She Announce Her Baby News?
Sharing on her profile in August, Lydia announced her unexpected baby news…
“Surprise! Yes, I’m having a baby, I’m so excited”.
“It’s been so hard keeping this a secret.
“I’ve done so much travelling, I’ve done all my partying holidays, I’m where I want to be in terms of my life, financially and career-wise. It just feels like the right time for it all to happen for me.”
“It’s not the ideal situation. I waited quite a long time to try for a baby, waited until I thought it was perfect. I’ve always wanted the fairytale. And it’s obviously not worked out exactly how I wanted.

“I’m not closing the door on it completely, but I feel like I just keep getting knocked back. I can’t beg somebody to be with me, and I can’t beg somebody to love me.”
“I’m really not bothered,” she said when asked if she wanted a boy or a girl. “I’d love a girl to be my best friend – me and my mum are best friends, she’s my best friend for life. But if I have a boy first he’ll be the big brother, all protective.”
Keeping positive, she added: “I know this baby will be the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

Will Lee Be A Part Of The Baby’s Life?

Lydia revealed that Lee would be an ‘active part’ of her baby’s life and she confirmed that he already is:
“Our baby was very much planned and we are both very excited for her arrival.
‘So many questions about me and Lee. I have learnt that things don’t always plan out the way you hoped and life isn’t always perfect and that’s ok.
‘I get so many messages from women who are in similar situations to me. My only advice is not to be bitter, focus on the miracle growing and whatever will be will be…..”

Lydia’s Gender Reveal
Lydia revealed on her Insta that she’d found out the gender of the baby, she wrote:
“Today I found out the sex of my baby – a girl. It honestly was such a magical day shared with family and friends and I feel so overwhelmed.’

Before her luxury A-list gender reveal party, Lydia admitted that she’d always wanted a girl so she could replicate her close relationship with her mum:
“I’d love a girl to be my best friend – me and my mum are best friends, she’s my best friend for life.
“I think that’s because I’m very girly, so people just imagine me with a girl,” she said. “But I’m really not bothered.
“I’d love a girl to be my best friend – me and my mum are best friends, she’s my best friend for life.”
