Zac Efron is one of our all-time favourite Hollywood stars.
Not only has he continued to impress fans and critics with his performances, but he’s also won over followers thanks to his family-first approach.
So what do Zac Efron’s parents do exactly?

Zac Efron Parents
Zac Efron’s parents are David Efron and Starla Basket. They both used to work in Diablo Canyon, California; David worked as an electrical engineer at a power plant, while Starla had a job as an administrative assistant.
David and Starla are also parents to Zac’s younger brother Dylan, who is 29.
Zac’s parents ended up parting ways in the end, and David has now moved on with a new partner. He plays dad to young daughter Olivia, who is Zac’s half-sister. And Zac absolutely dotes on her!
The Hollywood star hasn’t got into details about the breakdown of his parent’s marriage, but apparently the couple divorced back in 2016.

According to Zac’s online bios, his mother has gone on to become a successful entrepreneur, while David has taken a starring role in his son’s YouTube channel. N’aww.
Meanwhile, Zac’s brother Dylan has been busy working on a few cushy projects thanks to his famous brother.
So far, Dylan has worked on the likes of Ready Player One and American Sniper, and he’s now got over 762k followers on Instagram. Go Dylan!
Dylan and Zac have also created their own film production company called Ninjas Runnin’ Wild, which runs under the Warner Bros. Banner.
Hollywood Career
After hitting Hollywood in his teens, it seems like Zac’s entire family are now on the road to success.
The actor first shot to fame after he landed the part of Troy Bolton in High School Musical, and he soon started stealing a LOT of hearts thanks to his singing skills (including ours FYI).
He then moved on to the film adaptation of the musical Hairspray, which was also aimed at younger audiences.

But Zac didn’t want to continue to typecast himself, so he decided to start moving on to more grown-up commercial roles.
He received critical acclaim for his performances in the likes of Me and Orson Welles and Liberal Arts, which became a huge hit at the Sundance Festival.
But it hasn’t all been plain sailing for the star. Zac Efron has been absolutely destroyed by critics over the years- and there’s a fair few films that earned him some seriously negative reviews.
Dirty Grampa, The Paperboy and That Awkward Moment (which Zac had also produced) were panned by the press.
He’s still gone on to star in some pretty terrible films in recent times, but his unexpected Netflix docuseries Down to Earth with Zac Efron earned him a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Program Host.
Dating Life
While Zac’s career has been a huge source of fascination for fans, it’s the star’s dating life that has probably caused the biggest stir!
While the actor hit the headlines for his relationship with High School Musical castmate Vanessa Hudgens, things weren’t set to last between the pair.
The couple went their separate ways in 2010.
Since then, Zac has been linked with everyone from Lily Collins to Olympic swimmer Sarah Bro. But he’s sent fans into meltdown with his new sweetheart.

Zac Efron was recently spotted in Las Vegas with Selling Sunset’s Amanza Smith while the pair attended a UF match.
We didn’t see that one coming!
While it’s not clear if they’re romantically involved, gossip columns have (predictably) gone wild.
According to online bloggers, Zac and Amanza “looked incredibly close and appeared to be affectionate with each other in the group pictures.”
