The actor is at the centre of a sexual abuse scandal, with 26 women having come forward to say that the actor abused them on the set of TV and film productions.

However, we do know that Noel Clarke’s wife is Iris Da Silva. She is Portuguese and formerly worked as a make-up artist. Her professional credits include the 2002 film Licks and the 1999 TV show Metrosexuality.

Though it’s not known how they met, Noel Clarke starred in Metrosexuality, and the couple may have met on set.

In a 2014 interview, Noel said: “My wife encouraged me to reach out. We speak now and he sees his grandkids.

Noel Clarke has an array of acting credits starting with 1999’s Metrosexuality. In the early 00s, he starred as the Doctor’s sidekick Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, and also appeared in Holby City and Casualty.

The British actor is also known for his writing abilities. He wrote the 2006 drama film Kidulthood and followed it up by writing and directing the sequel, Adulthood. In 2016, the final film in his Hood Trilogy, Brotherhood, premiered.

Recent Allegations

On April 29th 2021, The Guardian released their report of an investigation into Noel Clarke. They spoke to 20 women whom Noel had worked with between 2004 and 2019.

The Guardian revealed that BAFTA had been made aware of these allegations earlier in the month, but they said there was no evidence for them to take it further.

On the 10th April 2021, BAFTA awarded Noel Clarke the award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema.

Women accused Noel of sexually inappropriate behaviour at work, misconduct, and taking and sharing explicit pictures. In one of these instances, an ex-colleague of Noel alleged that he would brag about keeping sexually explicit images and videos on his home hard drive.

Immediately, Noel denied all the allegations. His statement read:

“In a 20-year career, I have put inclusivity and diversity at the forefront of my work and never had a complaint made against me. If anyone who has worked with me has ever felt uncomfortable or disrespected, I sincerely apologise.

I vehemently deny any sexual misconduct or wrongdoing and intend to defend myself against these false allegations.”

Since the allegations surfaced, Noel Clarke has retreated from the spotlight. His last post on Instagram was on the 26th April 2021, advertising the latest episode of his show Viewpoint.

From the 21st of April, just a few days before the allegations were first released, comments have also been turned off on his Instagram posts.
