We’ve loved seeing Robert Webb light up our screens over the years, and his brief time on Strictly Come Dancing was no different.
While the TV funny man ended up pulling out of the dance show due to a heart condition, the star found solace in celebrity friends such as David Mitchell- and his wife, who’s a comedian too!
So who is Robert Webb married to, and how long have they been together for?

Robert Webb’s wife is Abigail Burgess, a fellow comedy performer.
They met many moons ago while recording the radio comedy show The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff.
Their mutual passion for their craft brought them together, and the pair got married in 2006. This means that they’ve been married for fifteen years so far.
Unsurprisingly, pal and comedy partner David Mitchell was best man at Robert and Abigail’s wedding, and he’s been by the couple’s side as their family has grown.

And while Rob has focused on his comedy, Abigail has been busy with her own projects too.
After her brief her stint as a travel agent in Casualty, Abigail got stuck into comedy writing too.
She’s been writing for television, radio and stage productions like the BAFTA-nominated Sorry I’ve Got No Head and BBC’s Watson and Oliver.
Speaking to Lifestyle Daily about what it’s like to be married to a fellow comedian, Robert Webb said:
“Like any other couple, we fight, but probably using slightly more stupid voices. We’re not really competitive with each other.
There’s a disparity between who’s had a break when. I had a massive break with Peep Show in 2003 but it hasn’t really happened for Abi in quite the same way.
She’s very successful compared with most actors and writers in that she makes a living, but she hasn’t had the ludicrous good fortune that I have.”
Career
Robert’s good fortunes started way back when he was at university, where he met David Mitchell at Cambridge’s amateur dramatics club, the Footlights.
The pair began writing together, and were commissioned for a show called That Mitchell and Webb Situation, which would later grow into That Mitchell and Webb Look on the BBC.
It was in 2003 their that their status skyrocketed when they landed starring roles in Peep Show.

Robert Webb was nominated for the Best Television Comedy Actor award in 2009, and he and David also received a nomination for best Comedy Performance at the Royal Television Society Awards.
After their success on Peep Show, the duo have gone on to produce more shows for both the BBC and Channel 4, including their acclaimed comedy Back.
And Robert’s been busy with other projects too…
Strictly Come Dancing
Earlier this year, Robert Webb joined the Strictly Come Dancing cast, despite having major heart surgery just two years ago.
While wife Abigail and pal David were cheering on the side lines, Rob was getting stuck into the likes of the Cha Cha and the Quickstep with dancing partner Dianne Buswell.

But in week four, things took a dramatic turn.
Robert Webb was advised to take a step back from Strictly after an urgent consultation with the specialist overseeing his recovery from heart surgery.
In a statement, Robert said:
“I’m extremely sorry to have to announce that I’m withdrawing from Strictly…
Although I believed I was fit enough to take on Strictly and its demanding schedule, it became clear that I had bitten off way more than I could chew…
I’m proud of the three dances that Dianne Buswell and I managed to perform and deeply regret having to let her down like this”.
