Kevin Costner children: How many kids does the Yellowstone actor have?
Not only is Kevin Costner an amazing actor, he is also a massive family man with a lot of children to handle. But who calls the Yellowstone star dad?
Kevin Costner children:
Kevin Costner is a father to seven wonderful children and despite the challenges of a bigger family, he absolutely loves it!
The Yellowstone star is the father of daughters, Annie, Lily and Grace, and sons, Joe, Liam, Cayden and Hayes.
His children are from three different relationships, which has come with its struggles.
Kevin’s first three children were with his college sweetheart Cindy Silva, who he married in 1978.
The (then) couple had three children together: Annie, 30, Lily, 28, and Joe, 26.
Following his divorce from Cindy after 16 years of marriage, Kevin had a brief relationship with Bridget Rooney and they had a son, Liam, 19, in 1996.
After things ended with Cindy, he married once more.
Kevin Costner is currently married to model and handbag designer Christine Baumgartner.
They have been married since September 2004 and have three children: Cayden, 8, Hayes, 5, and Grace.
Sibling rivalry and drama:
Despite loving fatherhood, Kevin is keeping it real.
The showbiz legend once opened up about the difficulty of having so many children, admitting there can be a bit of sibling rivalry.
He said: “As my children interact together, there’s always this little bit of ‘Do you care for us now as much as you do them?’ — that’s just a natural thing that happens, and you have to talk about how big love is.”
However, Kevin has always made it clear that love has no limits and he really cares about all of his children.
“It almost seemed impossible to love the first [child] any more than you loved them. And then suddenly the second one comes, and you think there’s so much room for love. There’s so much room,” he continued.
“And that’s the way it is with children, and if there was any, perhaps jealousy that existed, I basically reminded [my older kids] that they were going to have twice as long with me on this planet.
“I said, ‘Look, they’re not going to have what you had,’ and at that point, they all just embraced each other,” Kevin told ‘mom.com.’
Funny moments:
With a larger family comes diversity, with every one of Kevin’s children having their own unique quirks and traits.
The Oscar winner has admitted he can’t help but laugh at some of the witty lines his youngest daughter, Grace, has come out with as she grows up.
While film stars may expect scrutiny from the public and press, it seems Kevin isn’t even safe from his young daughter, who was quick to point out when he wasn’t in shape in one of his films!
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2015, the star actor recalled a very funny moment with little Grace.
“I was watching ‘Black or White’ and there is a moment where I am coming out of a pool,” he says.
“I was studying and didn’t really want her in the room, but she came in and sat next to me. Didn’t really feel her because I was really concentrating. So I get pulled out of the pool and I look over at her and she says ‘Daddy you got a fat belly.’ So I look at her and she says ‘yeah — you got a big belly.’”
So cheeky!
The younger Costners:
Grace is Kevin’s youngest child and was born in June 2010.
Kevin and his current wife, Christine Baumgartner, also have their eldest son together, Cayden, born in May 2007.
Next came Hayes, who arrived in February 2009.
Not much is known about his youngest three, seeing as they are still so young.
However, they have accompanied their dad on a few red carpet outings, and we can confirm they are adorable!
Unlike his older children, Kevin admitted Grace and her two big brothers Cayden and Hayes are “not really” aware of what he does for a living.
One day for sure they’ll find out their dad is a superstar, it’d be pretty hard not to!
In fact, some of his older children seem to have followed his path to the silver screen.
The older Costners:
Kevin’s oldest child Annie Costner has followed in her father’s footsteps and has a career in showbiz. She now works in Hollywood as a film director, producer and actress.
The same goes for his second child Lily, who is an actress.
She’s starred in some great movies like The Baby-Sitters Club, The Postman and Black or White.
Their brother Joe also works in Hollywood as an actor. He starred alongside Lily in the 1997 film The Postman and has also appeared in Tin Cup.
However, the silver screen isn’t for every Costner.
Kevin’s son Liam, who he had with (then) girlfriend Bridget Rooney has chosen to stay out of the spotlight.
Liam is yet to pursue a career on the big screen and keeps his life pretty private for the time being.
