Kardashian Lawyer: Is Kim Following In Her Father’s Footsteps?

Robert Kardashian rose to fame in the 1990s as the defence attorney for O. J. Simpson during his infamous trial.

The Kardashian patriarch studied at the University of Southern California, where he ended up meeting Kris Houghton – now known as Kris Jenner.

The couple would go on to have four very famous children – Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, and Robert.

Now, one of those Kardashian siblings is following in her father’s footsteps. But what do we know about Kim Kardashian deciding to become a lawyer?

Who Was Robert Kardashian?

Robert Kardashian lived a largely private life until his involvement in the infamous O. J. Simpson murder case.

He was already good friends with Simpson in the mid-90s when the American footballer went on trial for murder. Robert Kardashian represented Simpson as his lawyer, eventually getting him acquitted of the murder charges.

He married Kris on July 8th 1978, but the pair separated in 1991, after the births of their four children.

Scott Disick Girlfriend: Who Is The Star Dating?

Sadly, Robert Kardashian contracted oesophagal cancer in July 2003 and died just two months later.

Robert and Kris reportedly stayed good friends even after their divorce and Kris’ second marriage to Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Bruce Jenner).

Since losing their father, the Kardashian children have continued to remember him.

Memorably, for Kim Kardashian’s 40th birthday, Kanye West gifted his wife a hologram of her late father.

At the time, Kim said: “I can’t even describe what this meant to me and my sisters, my brother, my mom and closest friends to experience together. Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime.”

Is Kim Kardashian A Lawyer?

However, Kim has chosen to honour her father in other ways – by becoming a lawyer herself.

She’s not going down the easy route, either. Instead of heading to law school, Kim is doing a four-year apprenticeship with #cut50, a legal nonprofit.

For the entirety of her apprenticeship, Kim will study 18 hours per week and take frequent tests in order to go through the same rigorous learning process as law school.

Kourtney Kardashian Height: How Tall Are The Sisters?

In December 2021, Kim Kardashian revealed that she had passed the initial California bar exam. Law students must pass this exam plus one more if they want to practice law in the State.

The reality star revealed the news on Instagram, accompanied by sultry pictures of the woman herself in a dazzling blue gown.

She said: “OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!

For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me. I failed this exam 3 times in 2 years, but I got back up each time and studied harder and tried again until I did it!!!”

She also referenced her late father when she said: “I know my dad would be so proud and he would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path now but he would have been my best study partner.”

Kim’s Divorce

In January 2021, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West shocked the world by announcing that she had filed for divorce. Good thing the Kardashian was already in training to be a lawyer!

The pair didn’t give any reasons publicly, but one source said that the couple had had a “big fight in early December.” Others claimed that Kanye was “completely over the entire family.”

According to rumours, Kanye wanted to move the family to Wyoming, which Kim was (quite understandably) unhappy about.

Kim Kardashian Kids: Does She Have A Favourite?

Throughout 2021, more rumours abounded about the world’s biggest breakup.

Divorce proceedings appeared to be going well in February, which Kim Kardashian was juggling with her lawyer training.

Aside from her lawyer training, Kim does have some experience with divorce proceedings – the Kardashian has now been married three times.

Her first marriage was to music producer Damon Thomas, who she eloped with in 2000. In 2011, she married NBA player Kris Humphries.

Sadly, both marriages didn’t last. In fact, she filed for divorce from Kris after just 72 days.

In June, Kim opened up about her most recent divorce on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, saying: “I feel like a f****** failure. It’s my third f****** marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f****** loser. But I can’t even think about that. I want to be happy.”
