School trips used to be the best!
You got to wear non-uniform
And it was a whole day off school.
Then you got to pick who was going to sit with you on the bus
(Not always an easy decision)
There was usually a worksheet to fill in…
And oftentimes a demonstration to be involved with,
But we got it out of the way to have fun
Your mum was sometimes a chaperone
And your packed lunches were always a bit more special.
Then it’s time for the gift shop (where there was rarely anything with your name on it…)
And time for the bus again 🙁
But hey – at least it was home time straight away!
