Actress and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester was actually born in jail, after her mother was thrown behind bars for drug smuggling charges! Leighton was then made to live with her grandmother until her mother had finished serving the rest of her time in jail. That can't have been easy!

Unfortunately, she miscalculated how expensive New York can actually be - and after her parents didn't bail her out, she ended up living in a homeless shelter to get by!
