He made 18 appearances in five seasons at the club, and was also loaned to other clubs including Royal Antwerp, Burnley, Rangers, Aston Villa and Sheffield United.
Phil then ended up joining Sunderland in 2008 for a cool fee of £850,000. It was here that the football ace picked up the 201-2011 Player of the Year Award, putting him on the radar as one of the country’s rising football talents.
But it wasn’t long before Phil ended up transferring once again- this time to Stoke City.
