While husband Mick has been busy making his millions with Simply Red, Gabriella has been forging her career as an art dealer– and it seems like she’s doing pretty well for herself.

She was spending her time climbing the ladder as an art dealer and learning six languages, but when she met Mick, her life changed completely.

Mick Hucknall had a reputation as a serial womaniser during the course of his career- his old flames included Martine McCutcheon, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Helena Christensen- despite being older and smaller than all of them!

He first began dating Gabriella Wesberry in 1995, but they split before his band embarked on an 18-month tour as he couldn’t quite handle the commitment.

While the pop star and Gabriella parted ways, he went on to date pole dancer Petrina Jameson, who he took to Chequers to meet Tony Blair and his wife Cherie.

Petrina returned the favour by releasing sordid details of their sex life after she was dumped for Catherine Zeta-Jones. Blimey.

But after years apart, it seemed like Gabriella held a special place in Mick’s heart. It’s rumoured that she inspired the songs Broken Man and Love Has Said Goodbye Again.

The pair finally reunited again through a mutual friend in 2003, and have been together ever since.

Family Life

Back in 2007, Gabriella Wesberry and Mick Hucknall took their relationship to the next level and announced that they were expecting a child together.

Gabriella gave birth to baby Romy True Hucknall, who weighed a healthy 9lb, at the private Portland maternity hospital in London.

This meant that Mick Hucknall finally became a father for the first time at 47 years old- and it was clear that he was over the moon.

Speaking to the press, the Simply Red singer said:

“I can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I wake up every morning and think that this is just great.

It’s wonderful to have someone who’s your lover and your best friend.”

While Gabriella Wesberry focused on motherhood, she decided to change direction with her career.

She became the director of Mick’s wine company Il Cantante as she juggled life as new mum, and Mick to continued to push on with Simply Red.

But while the singer still had plenty of gigs booked in, he delayed his next world tour so he could spend more time bonding with his baby daughter. N’aww.

Marriage

And it seems like the couple have gone from strength to strength since the birth of their daughter.

Gabriella Wesberry and Mick Hucknall finally got hitched in 2010 in an exclusive ceremony in Scotland- with just eight people in attendance.

Chatting with the Daily Mirror, Mick Hucknall said:

I’m a family man now, a unit. Me, my wife, my daughter and I won’t do anything to f*** that up.”
