When his Sky 1 show The Moaning of Life was released in 2013, Karl got into trouble for calling Suzanne Whiston “plump” on screen.

The documentary sees Karl travelling around the world to see how other cultures deal with life’s biggest issues.

In the specific episode, Karl considers an arranged marriage and spends the night dating. He claimed that Suzanne Whiston was unlikely to see the episode, and wouldn’t be bothered by his comments.

He said:

“It depends how you use that word. I don’t see it as a bad thing. She’s not unhealthily thin, what’s normal these days? It’s just a word that came into my head. And she won’t be offended by that.”

In 2015, he bought a £4.2 million house in Sandbanks, Dorset, for himself and Suzanne Whiston. He also revealed he would rather spend his money on a house than marrying his long-term girlfriend.
