From presenting T4 to becoming one of our all-time favourite DJs, it’s safe to say that Nick Grimshaw is one of the country’s most recognisable broadcasters.
Nick has openly admitted that he’s struggled with his identity over the years, and has been fairly candid about his sexuality with his listeners and followers.
So is Nick Grimshaw gay?
Dating life
Nick Grimshaw came out as gay in 2012 when being interviewed for The Guardian– when we described his perfect man as Frank Ocean.
But it wasn’t always easy for the star to accept himself.
In an interview with Huffington Post earlier this month, the DJ spoke about his early years:
“Growing up, you’re sort of conditioned to think being gay or part of the LGBTQ spectrum is somehow not normal. And you spend a lot of time maybe feeling a little bit s**t about yourself or searching for those heroes, or just wishing you were “normal”, like everybody else.”
The Radio 1 presenter also admitted that he struggled with dating for years due to his job, but it seems that Grimmy has finally found love.

Nick Grimshaw has now been in a relationship with boyfriend Meshach Henry since 2018, and the pair live together in their cosy pad in North London.
Meshach is a dancer, and made it all the way to the final of the BBC Young Dancer competition. He is now a star at Rambert – one of the leading independent dance companies.
A source told The Sun:
“Nick has found dating quite tough in recent years because of his job.
Nick is the happiest he has ever been and Mesh is a massive part of that.”
The DJ regularly shares loved-up snaps of the pair on his Instagram page, and they can usually be spotted hanging out at swanky parties and events with their A-list pals.

We still remember a very young Nick Grimshaw hitting our screens on Channel 4’s T4 back in 2012, when he would often be cracking jokes with presenter and fashion queen Jameela Jamil.
He also appeared on The Album Chart Show, as well as various award shows and festivals including the iTunes Festival.
In 2012, Nick Grimshaw’s career soared when he was invited to replace Chris Moyles on Radio 1’s Breakfast Show. He enjoyed a six-year stint on the show, and started to pick up presenting gigs for The One Show and The Brits Are Coming.
Nick even became a judge on The X Factor during its twelfth series- despite not being a singer himself!

In 2018, the Radio 1 star switched from The Breakfast Show to the Drivetime slot after admitting he was struggling with his early morning starts- and hoped it would improve his love life too.
Nick said at the time:
“I have committed to this show, especially the last year, and I have put my head down.
But now I can go for dates with people and the new show will help.
I have been trying to date people, but you don’t want to day date.”
But after starting his relationship with Meshach, it seems like this wasn’t enough for Nick.
Earlier this year, the DJ announced he’ll be quitting Radio 1 for good after spending 14 years with the broadcaster.
The former X Factor judge made the shock announcement during his Drivetime show as he told listeners he would be stepping down from his usual 3.30-6pm slot.
Nick’s last show will take place on the 12th August, two weeks after colleague and best pal Annie Mac steps back from the radio station too.
