If you’re a fan of TV, adverts, shampoo and Claudia Winkleman, then you’ve no doubt seen the Head & Shoulders advert in which Claudia reads out tweets about her luscious locks. To one of them, she asks, ‘Is that from my husband?’ Well, the husband she’s referencing here is non-other than Kris Thykier.

And who is Kris Thykier?

One thing you should know about Claudia’s husband is that he’s a bit of a big deal. A showbiz personality in his own right, Kris is a film and TV producer, and one who has made a pretty big name for himself, too.

His work includes smash hit Kick Ass, lavish TV thriller Riviera,  rom-com I Give It A Year and many more.

Which means Kris and the TV stunner have both made successful careers for themselves, and kept showbiz in the family.

Born in London, Kris would later go on to marry the Strictly Come Dancing host – who stars alongside Tess Daly on the show – in London, too.

Claudia Winkleman Husband: The Beginning Of The Perfect Romance

After meeting film producer Kris, Claudia was quickly seduced by his impeccable manners, his kindness and charm.

Speaking to OK!Magazine, Claudia explained:

“What did it for me was how he behaved in restaurants, bars and planes – indeed, simply around people. ‘Thanks so much’, ‘no rush’, ‘I’ll carry it over for you’, ‘here, have a drink on us’. Having been a waitress every school holiday from the age of 16, it was just that magic characteristic that tipped me over.”

Clearly a fan of good manners (aren’t we all), Claudia went on to reveal that it was this that made her realise she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Kris:

“I married him because he always asks the cab driver how his day was; I love the fact he’ll never take a seat on the tube; I’m happy he believes in big tips and not making a mess.”

When Did Claudia Winkleman Husband And The TV Presenter Marry?

Deciding that Kris was definitely the one for her, Claudia married him back in June 2000, at Marylebone Town Hall in London. The pair had been together for two years prior to their official nuptials.

The ceremony was very private, with just a few family and friends. No doubt the couple, too used to showbiz lights and attention, wanted a more intimate experience for a change.

Yes, the pair have three children together: Matilda, Arthur and Jake.

How Do Claudia Winkleman Husband And The TV Star Manage Their Busy Schedules?

Two married people in showbiz is never easy, with hectic schedules and growing demands.

But Claudia reveals that she and husband Chris manage by simply being nice to each other.

To Red Magazine, she explains:

“Working too hard puts a strain on – but we’re still working hard now. We don’t have rules, but we look after each other more. So, whoever comes home first normally makes the dinner. It’s just about being nice to each other.”

Their Romance Is Still Going Strong

20 years after their marriage and three children together, Claudia and Kris are still very much in love. Not only that, but Claudia’s husband is trusted enough to even take care of the Christmas presents.

The star revealed to Red Magazine:

“He knows that in the lead-up to the Strictly final, for example, I’m useless, so he might be in charge of getting Christmas presents for our nephews and nieces… ‘I’m not a romantic person, he’s much more romantic than me, the poor guy!”

So in Kris we find a romantic, loyal, talented film producer and all around great guy, by the sounds of it. Her happiness when revealing Strictly winners may not entirely be about the dancing after all…
