Riverdale took the world by storm, so show runners had hope that spin-off Katy Keene would do too! Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the show.

Who stars in the show?
Lucy Hale stars as the titular character – an aspiring fashion designer.
The Riverdale spinoff also sees Ashleigh Murray reprise her role of Josie McCoy. Josie moves to New York City to start her music career and ends up restarting Josie and the Pussycats.
Julia Chan plays Pepper Smith. An ‘it’ girl with a mysterious past.
Jorge Lopez makes up the final member of the fab four. Jorge is an aspiring broadway actor who earns the majority of his money as a drag queen.

Other notable characters of the Riverdale spin off include:
Katherine LaNasa stars as Gloria Grandbilt – Katy’s boss for her job at Lacy’s department store.
Waterloo Road’s Lucien Laviscount plays Alex Cabot – a love interest of Josie’s who plans on reopening a forgotten record label.
Xandra Cabot is played by Camille Hyde. An enemy of Josie’s and is somehow linked to Alex.

The show follows the fab four as they struggle to make their way in the city. It’s set five years after Riverdale. A mixture of rom-com, drama, musical and mystery – this is one show you don’t want to miss!

Like all good shows, the CW cancelled Katy Keene after one series.
Starring Lucy Hale as Katy, the actress took to Instagram to confirm the news to her fans.

After much dispute about Jorge starring as both the male and female roles, he enlists the help of Josie but still puts a twist on the original.

The episode ‘Chapter Five: Song For A Winter’s Night’ is a fan favourite.
Not only does it feature an incredible musical number from the fab four, it’s also full of twists and turns.
Gloria puts Katy to design her a dress for a ball she is attending – in just 24 hours! However, Katy had promised Jorge she would make him a new dress for Ginger.
As Katy is now preoccupied, Jorge decides to take matters into his own hands and create a dress for Ginger himself but disaster strikes when he breaks Katy’s beloved sewing machine.
Pepper and Josie are also at loggerheads as Josie thinks Pepper leaked a story regarding her boyfriend!
Thankfully, the episode ends on a heartwarming note.
