The BBC have confirmed this Saturday’s (17.10.20) planned episode will not go ahead as a result of the positive tests, but show bosses are hoping the series will resume by Saturday October 24th.

A statement from the BBC read:

‘We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.

‘Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.

‘There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount. We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24 October’.

In the programme, Little Mix – who are made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson – have put together four bands, all-boy, all-girl, mixed, and a dance group, who will take each other on in the live shows.

This news comes after the series, which launched last month, had already been pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In July, Little Mix confirmed the programme would begin in the autumn.

Perrie said:

‘We can’t wait for everyone to finally see what we’ve been working on because it’s so good!

‘This show is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time’.

Jade added:

‘The auditions were great fun to film.

‘So much talent auditioned for the show that it was genuinely tough to decide who should go through. There are lots of twists and turns’.
