The 62-year-old actress is set to join the long-running soap for one year in a specially created role, and Denise is excited about her new challenge.

The TV star – who is a fan of the Channel 4 show – said:

‘I’m going to be playing my lovely Nikki Sanderson’s mum, Trish, who is a dance teacher with a slightly dark side.

‘I’ve got a hunky new lover. Because of Covid restrictions, he’s probably very glad he doesn’t have to kiss me, but they’ve also mentioned there may be times that Lincoln might have to be a body double if there’s any jiggy jigs’.

Denise – who previously played Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street – is excited to work with some of her showbiz friends – including Chelsee Healey and Joe McGann – on the soap.

The actress is also eager to reunite with Kéllé Bryan, who is part of the Loose Women panel.

She said:

‘I’m still going to be able to do ‘Loose’. I’m excited because I miss my acting. I love the show’.

The veteran actress – who has also starred on shows like Soldier Soldier and Waterloo Road – explained on Loose Women:

‘It’s their 25th anniversary and I feel very honoured that this role has been created. It’s fabulous’.
