The show documented the horrific murder of a North Carolina family by the father, Chris Watts.

In a sickening twist of events, after the disappearance of Shannan Watts, her unborn baby Nico and her two young daughters, CeCe and Bella, it was revealed that the family were brutally murdered by the evil Chris, who had wanted to escape he old life to be with his new girlfriend.

Here’s what we didn’t see in the show…

What Prison Is He Serving Time At?

Watts is serving his life sentences (without the possibility of parole) at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, Wisconsin. He began his jail time on November 14, 2018.

When watching the Netflix docu, you’ll have seen loads of Facebook content from Shanann’s page. With her social media being such a big part of her life, the page has been turned into a memorialised legacy account, which means other Facebook users are able to view and share her posts.

Shanann frequently shared photos of her, her husband and her kids and they are still online for all to see to mourn the loss and remember the mother and her two daughters.

Biographer

In jail, Chris has been corresponding with Cheryln Cadle, a true crime author who is releasing a new book, The Murders of Christopher Watts, after she wrote to him and visited him in prison.

Cheryln’s book will feature all of the handwritten notes the 35-year-old sent her in full for readers to see. These include gruesome details about the August 2018 murders.

The murderer agreed to write back and forth with Cheryln as he wants to tell a story of redemption after finding religion in prison, rather than telling a story of murder and family annihilation.

The House Won’t Sell

The family’s high-end Colorado house where the horrific murders happened has been on the market since 2018 and still sits vacant.

The Watts’ home has eight bedrooms and is valued at $645,000.

The house recently went to auction, but had no bids and then stayed on the market, again with no bids.

With its devastating history, it’s no wonder no one wants to buy the empty home.
