What Are The Dawson’s Creek Cast Up To Now?

We may think the likes of One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries are the ultimate teen dramas but what about the Dawson’s Creek cast?

Yes, it may be only the early side for some – it aired from 1998-2003 – but if anything, that makes it better. The fashion, hairstyles and lack of social media is actually a breath of fresh air. It’s been over twenty years since the North Carolina based TV show premiered, so what do the cast look like now?

Dawson Leery – James Van Der Beek

James played the leading role of Dawson Leery; a budding filmmaker who believes he knows more about the world than he actually does. He is instantly smitten by the new girl and over the course of the shows six season run, he is often found in love triangles.

It’s likely that you already know about Dawson without realising it – he is that infamous dramatic crying meme!

After starring as the show’s title role, James went on to star in Scary Movie and The Rules of Attraction. More recently he has turned to TV roles such as Ugly Betty, How I Met Your Mother and Don’t Trust The B**** In Apartment 23.

James is married to Kimberly and together the pair have five children: Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia and Gwendolyn. The couple have been extremely open about their struggles with miscarriages, the most recent of which happened in November 2019, when James was starring on Dancing With The Stars.

Joey Potter – Katie Holmes

The typical girl-next-door, Joey is the best friend of Dawson who has fallen head over heels for the wannabe movie maker. That is until she meets other boys. The bookworm has a rollercoaster of a ride on the show that involves being mugged, falling in love (multiple times), getting into her dream college, discovering she doesn’t have the funds to attend her dream college and more!

Katie Holmes – Joey Potter

Arguably one of the more high profile actors to rise from the Dawson’s Creek cast, Katie made her household name from starring in Batman Begins. She married fellow actor Tom Cruise in 2006 and even converted to Scientology for him, despite following Catholicism teachings as a child. Together they have a daughter, Suri, who Katie now has sole custody of after her and Tom’s divorce in 2012.

Katie is returning to the big screen with the film, The Secret.

Pacey Witter – Joshua Jackson

Dawson’s other best friend, Pacey’s heart is in the right place but his actions don’t always follow. He got off to a rocky start by dating his teacher, but went on to become the boyfriend every girl wanted.

Jen Lindley – Michelle Williams

The city girl who moves her grandmother’s small town to escape her bad behaviour, Jen Lindley was the girl we grew to love.

In arguably one of the saddest deaths in the history of TV shows, creator Kevin Williamson has since revealed why he chose to kill off Jen in the series finale:
