The 31-year-old reality star – who took part in the third series of Love Island – has taken to his Instagram Stories to thank those who have wished him well and a speedy recovery, after he suffered the “worst day of [his] life” on Saturday (06.06.20).

He said:

‘This is just a message to everyone that has sent me prayers and blessings. I’ve really needed them right now. It’s been a hard few days for me. Saturday was the worst day of my life, I nearly died.

‘Just keep sending them my way, I’ve need them so much. Big love’.

The Blazin’ Squad star also shared another video of himself in hospital, showing him hooked up to machines helping him recover from his mystery illness.

Marcel’s girlfriend Rebecca Vieira – who he has been dating since May 2019 – took to her Instagram Stories to share a number of videos and photographs of her beau.

She also posted a series of photographs of the two of them, captioning the images:

‘my sun & stars – I love you (sic)’.

To which Marcel commented:

‘I miss you baby xxx (sic)’.

It comes following reports he had been rushed to hospital with a mysterious illness.

An insider close to the star told OK! Online:

‘Marcel has been feeling unwell for a few days and didn’t have any energy. One day he vomited violently and then passed out. He’s been admitted to hospital and has a fever and is still feeling weak.

‘He’s been in hospital for two days and they’re still awaiting test results to rule out coronavirus’.
