Who Plays Beth? Coronation Street’s Lisa George

Who doesn’t love the one and only boisterous Beth? Coronation Street’s resident loudmouth Beth Sutherland née Tinker is a force to be reckoned with!

The gobby mother, played by Lisa George, has been entertaining audiences with her rough and tumbles on the cobbles for almost a decade.

Beth was first introduced to the cobbles as a former model and blind date of Steve Macdonald. She is accompanied by her son Craig (Colson Smith).

Actress Lisa George took part in the twelfth series of BBC’s figure skating competition Dancing On Ice, partnered with professional skater Tom Naylor.

The Coronation Street star left the show after the Bridget-Jones movie themed week, losing the dance off against Libby Clegg and Mark Hanretty.

Beth Tinker Is first Introduced To The ITV Soap As Steve McDonald’s Blind Date

Beth Tinker makes her first appearance on the soap in August 2011 as the blind date of the hapless Steve McDonald. Since then, the larger-than-life character has gone on to become a Corrie regular after settling down with Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment).

Did You Know Lisa Has Played Three Different Roles On Coronation Street?

Surprisingly, before stepping into the shoes of primadonna Beth, Lisa George had tried on a few others pairs first!

The soap star first set foot on the cobbles back in 1997, playing the nursing colleague of Martin Platt for five episodes.

She appeared for a second time as police liaison officer in 2005.

The Producers Wanted Her Back Six Years Later To Play Beth Tinker

In 2011, Lisa appears on Corrie for two episodes but following her stint, the producers tell her that they want her to stay.

In 2012, she is even nominated for Best Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards.

Currently Beth Tinker Is At War With Her Late Niece’s Former Husband And Bethany Platt

Ever since the tragic passing of niece Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) after a long, tumultuous battle with cancer, Beth became at odds with her widowed husband Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) after he begins a relationship with Bethany Platt.

The pair had shared a kiss when Sinead was on her death bed and it seems that they couldn’t deny their attraction in spite of Daniel’s grief.

Believing that Bethany was trying to replace Sinead, a horrified Beth confronted the pair.

When Daniel reveals that he and Bethany, along with son Bertie, are planning to leave Weatherfield to start a new life in London.

Beth is devastated at the idea of losing Bertie, the only part of Sinead she has left.

At Sarah’s wedding, Beth scathingly remarks that Bethany has successful erased all traces of Sinead from their lives.

After a drunken proposal that ends with Daniel calling Bethany ‘Sinead’, Bethany realises that Daniel isn’t over his late wife. She later decides to leave for London on her own.
