Donna Roberta Paulsen shakes the Pearson Hardman law firm by being herself. She managed to snag the position of Chief Operating Officer of Specter Litt Wheeler Williams after working as Harvey Specter’s secretary for 12 years. What’s admirable is the fact that she had no solid legal credentials.

Being an excellent networker, Donna is well-connected in New York. She is also a great friend and often offers her shoulders to those who need a confidante. Above all, she is very loyal to her boss, Harvey Specter and loves him.

Donna and Harvey’s relationship comes with its own set of complexities but the couple navigates through without hassle. Harry loves and trusts Donna completely so much so that he is not afraid of being vulnerable with her.

The Actor Behind The Strong Woman On Screen

Evidently, through nine series of Suits, audience and ardent followers are well aware of Donna Paulsen’s admirable qualities. Some may even have fallen in love with her.

This leads us to the actor playing Donna Paulsen so effectively and charmingly.

American actress Sarah Gray Rafferty is the one who brings magic to the screen! It is no wonder that Sarah Rafferty did a wonderful job in Suits. Unlike Donna, Sarah’s credentials are solid and strong.

She majored in English and Theatre at Hamilton College, studied at the University of Oxford during her junior year, graduated magna cum laude from Hamilton, and pursued Master of Fine Arts at the Yale School of Drama.

Amazingly, it looks like she has a lot in common with Donna, after all. Both women clearly know what they want and were ready to achieve it come rain or shine.

Sarah’s Life Outside Suits

Apart from being a hit in Suits, Sarah has acted in a lot of popular dramas and series. Some of them are Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Samantha Who?, Numb3rs, Bones, and Grey’s Anatomy, to name a few.

She has also acted in films such as Mambo Cafe, Speakeasy, Soccer Dog: European Cup, Falling For Grace, The Devil Wears Prada, Four Single Fathers, and Small, Beautifully Moving Parts.

A quick peek into her Instagram will reveal that she loves the outdoors, like to read, and spend so much quality time with her husband Aleksanteri Olli-Pekka Seppälä and their two daughters Oona Gray and Iris Friday.

Their idea of a date night is:

“My husband and I will do hot yoga and hike. Then we’ll go out to dinner, where we can actually talk without being interrupted. That’s like winning.”

What does Sarah think of Donna? Did she like playing her? Does she admire her like the fans are crazy about Donna?

“I’m so thrilled with how they’ve developed her, and who she’s become, and the crazy power that she wields at the firm, for being a secretary.”

“She’ll do everything that she can to keep everybody together when there are so many forces trying to pull them apart. That being said, I feel like they’ve set it up so that the sky is the limit with her.”

According to Sarah, Donna’s big asset is her larger than life self-esteem.

“But going into the back six episodes, she’s resilient. She’s back at work. She’s back tending to the home fires.

“She has a lot on her place with Louis being on the trail of Mike, and with Harvey being in a relationship. She’s actually really trying to help Harvey not screw it up.”

Apparently, Donna is really skilled with people and that makes her very valuable to anyone she is dealing with.

“She can be a bit of a mother hen to Mike, and a great girlfriend to Rachel. And then, what’s interesting is that she’s put in a bind because she’s loyal to Harvey. We know how much history they have. It’s her job to protect him.”
