Taylor Swift is an award-winning singer-songwriter, record producer, music video director and actress who has come a long way since she stepped into the industry at the tender age of 14.

Fun Fact: Justin Bieber is also another award-winning singer who entered the music industry when he was just a teenager!

One of her albums that propelled her towards stardom is Fearless that won her four Grammy Awards. Other albums include Speak Now, Red, and Lover.

Quite remarkably, her sixth album Reputation gave her the recognition for having four consecutive albums that sold a whopping one million copies in their first week of release in the United States.

Taylor Swift’s music rewarded her with an awards list that is never-ending: Ten Grammy Awards, one Emmy Award, six Guinness World Records (not as quirky as these records by Gino D’acampo, though!), 29 wins at the American Music Awards, and 23 wins at the Billboard Music Awards.

To top all of these, Taylor Swift also made it into Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time in 2015, and Time’s 100 Most Influential People of All Time in 2010, 2015, and 2019.

Remarkably, she was ranked first in the Forbes Celebrity 100 in 2016 and 2019. Being named Woman of the Decade by Billboard and Artist of the Decade by the American Music Awards, Taylor’s net worth is unbelievable!

From the announcement of the documentary’s release date in all her social media platforms, Taylor amped up the anticipation and fair enough, it was emotional, heart-wrenching and enlightening.

For starters, Netflix described the movie as,

“In this revealing documentary, Taylor Swift embraces her role as a songwriter and performer- and as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”

This will make anyone want to watch Taylor Swift’s documentary, to be honest!

The documentary revolves around crucial events in Taylor’s life. From her battles with an eating disorder, her sexual assault trial, her mother’s cancer to her political awakening.

Impactful Parts Of Taylor Swift’s Documentary

Although the whole documentary was impactful, several parts stood out. Especially when Taylor Swift barred her heart and shared her emotions to the audience.

Outrageously, she had to confront Kanye West for calling her a ‘bitch’ in his song in 2016. After the confrontation, Kim Kardashian posted a phone call recording that put Taylor in a bad light.

The whole incident deeply affected Taylor. She wanted to be the good girl in the eyes of her audience. Unfortunately, things went south!

“When people decided I was wicked and evil and conniving and not a good person, that was the one that I couldn’t really bounce back from.

“Cause my whole life was centered around it.”

“It just feels like it’s more than music now at this point. Most days, I’m like, okay. But then sometimes, I’m just like — it just gets loud sometimes.”

Her Political Awakening…

Moving on to the next intense and impactful part of the documentary. Taylor kept her silence for the fear of being blacklisted like Dixie Chicks. However, she was all set to share her political stand.

Apparently, she was about to declare her support for Democrat Phil Bredesen in the Tennessee Senate race instead of Republican Marsha Blackburn. But, she didn’t get any nods of approval from her team.

“I’m sad that I didn’t two years ago, but I can’t change that. I’m saying right now that this is something that I know is right … I need to be on the right side of history.”

Taylor Swift’s Sexual Assault Case Against David Mueller

This part is right up at the top for being impactful and inspiring.

Taylor accused radio DJ David Mueller of groping her during a pre-concert meet-and-greet in June 2013. Taylor won the case. However, when she opened up about the whole ordeal, it wasn’t what it looked like.

“You don’t feel a sense of any victory when you win because the process is so dehumanising.”

“No man in my organization or my family will ever understand what that was like.”

“I had all the privilege in the world—financial support and the ability to pay for a brilliant lawyer.

“I won that trial, but without all that, I didn’t know what would happen.

“It taught me so much and it was the women in my life who were there every single day going into court.”

What Does The Director Of Taylor Swift’s Documentary Has To Say About The Singer?

Lana Wilson is all praises for Taylor Swift as she opens up about the way Taylor works hard to materialise her goals, day in and day out.

“I think the biggest misconception is that there’s a giant machine behind her, or like a big factory or massive team of people.

“What I was so struck by is that she’s the sole creative force behind everything in a way that I found incredibly inspiring.

“She’s written all of her songs for the last 15 years, but she also comes up with the idea for the album cover. In the film you see her coming up with the ideas for this massive music video.

“I think it’s so cool to see a female artist have a vision and then see that vision realized on the highest level possible, and there are a few moments in that film where we see that.”

Way to go, Taylor!
