Stacey Dooley And Kevin Clifton: Not Just Strictly Friends

Media personality Stacey Dooley went from documentary filming to ballroom dancing in 2018 and bagged herself the Strictly crown and a new boyfriend.

Stacey and dance partner Kevin Clifton haven’t given too much insight into their relationship and we can’t really blame them, given the dreaded ‘Strictly Curse’ rumours.

Stacey and Kevin met during the sixteenth series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. After splitting up with their respective partners, the two announced their relationship not long after the show had finished.

Kevin split up with wife of three years Karen Hauer, who was also a professional dancer on the show and Stacey split up with her boyfriend of three years, Sam Tucknott.

‘What I am happy to say is Kev is amazing. I’m happy, life happens. I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky’

Stacey Dooley revealed to Hello! Magazine late last year that she and Kevin preferred to keep their relationship out of the public eye.

‘Kev and I have decided not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy. That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds.’

The documentary filmmaker did say, however, that she and Kevin were very happy and life was treating her well:

‘What I am happy so say is Kev is amazing, I’m happy, life happens, I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky’.

Stacey Dated Sam Tucknott For Three Years Until March Last Year

Stacey dated personal trainer Sam Tucknott for three years before their relationship broke down reportedly due to pressures after the show, becoming the fourteenth couple to be struck by the ‘Strictly Curse’.

After winning the 2018 series of Strictly Come Dancing, a source revealed that Stacey found it difficult to manage the pressures of the Strictly tour and travelling to film documentaries to the point where she was struggling to hold down her relationship with Sam.

Sam Branded Kevin Clifton A ‘Snake’ And ‘Rat’ For Dating Stacey

Sam was not too happy to hear the news that his ex-girlfriend was dating her old dance partner and didn’t hold back when it came to expressing his feelings to The Sun. He even went as far as to confront the dancer about it.

In a FaceTime video, Sam recalled how the interaction went:

‘He went white. I just stuck it on him, ‘You’re an absolute rat, how you conducted yourself. Just a slippery, slimy snake’. He didn’t say a word, he looked petrified, so shocked.

‘I have no respect for Kevin whatsoever. He comes out and says it’s all ‘strictly business’. He’s a full-on p***k. I’ve tried to meet him since to get closure but he won’t do it.’

Stacey hit back at the critics, telling Twitter followers:

‘Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are 2 sides to every story. I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read on here. Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward.’

Indeed! Let’s spread happiness, people.
