At the tender age of 14, Taylor rejected a development contract with RCA Records after they wanted her to record songs that were written by other people. The teenager told her mum she didn’t want to record anything that she hadn’t written and ended up walking out of her deal with the label.

The owner of Taylor’s next record label Big Machine revealed that a move like that – especially for a young girl – was ‘unheard of’.

She Has Three Cats…

A lover of animals, Taylor has three cats, one named Olivia Benson, after the “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” character and Meredith Grey, named after a character from “Grey’s Anatomy.” In 2019, she adopted a new kitten and named him Benjamin Button.
