The former Love Island star – whose family has a history of early menopause and had children in their mid-20s – had a “fertility MOT” and discovered her AMH (anti-müllerian hormone) level is quite low at 8.5, which further convinced her to look into other options for the future.

Appearing on ITV’s Loose Women Amy, 27, admitted it was “just an indicator) and said:

‘I’m 27, always had regular periods, I’ve not had any problems at all.

‘I’ve always wanted to freeze my eggs, so I went to the MOT, didn’t think it was going to be an issue.

‘So when he said that, I was like, “Wow”. People kept saying “It might be bad news”, but I thought I’d be fine’.

The blonde beauty still dreams of finding a man, getting married and starting a family, but she wouldn’t let a potential partner dictate whether or not she had her eggs frozen.

She added:

‘I’d still do it, I’m not going to live my life by a man I meet.

‘But, you don’t know – I could meet someone, get married, and then get to 35, try for a baby, and then “actually, those eggs you froze when you were 27 are a better quality than the ones you have now so we’ll use them instead.”‘.

Although the NHS doesn’t usually fund egg freezing – unless you’re undergoing a medical treatment which could affect fertility – Amy is still keen to have the procedure in this spring.

She explained:

‘I just think I’m gonna do it at some point because my eggs are going to be a better quality now than they will in two, three, four years time…

‘I’d love to meet someone, get married, have kids naturally… that’s my dream idea’.
