The Jeremy Kyle show premiered in 2005 and is one of ITV’s longest-running chat shows. If you’ve been a fan of the show, then you’d not be surprised of the countless ‘WTF’ moments.
Remember when a bunch of fighting drug addicts sent Jeremy flying? Or that mother who got her daughter to sleep with sugar daddies to fund their surgery addiction!

End of The Jeremy Kyle Show
However, in May 2019, the show was axed due to the death of guest Steve Dymond.
Steve committed suicide after failing a lie detector test on the show while trying to prove he didn’t cheat on his fiancé.
A devastated Kyle told The Sun:
“Myself and the production team I worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve’s family at this incredibly sad time.”
A source from the show also commented:
“It’s everyone’s worst nightmare, and something that is taken extremely seriously by all involved.”
“Jeremy and the team are extremely proud of the show and the aftercare which guests receive, and in 14 years on air there has never been an incident like this.”
Jeremy had also apparently raised concerns of being made a scapegoat after an investigation took place by the axe man who binned Big Brother. He also declined the invitation to appear before the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee. Instead, ITV executives will appear in his place to provide evidence on the controversial show.
Chairman Damian Collins told MPs:
“We believe that Jeremy Kyle himself should be an important witness to that as the show is based around him as the lead presenter of it.”
Who is Carla Germaine?
Carla Germaine was born in the United Kingdom in 1975 and is 44 years old this year. Carla can be seen in the media wearing stylish outfits and keeping a polished appearance. With gorgeous blonde hair, and a striking smile, we can see why the famous TV presenter was smitten. Although she is said to be a model, she’s best known for being the ex-wife of famous TV presenter Jeremy Kyle.
Besides occasional vacations in Barbados, their love life doesn’t seem too exciting. Which explains why their relationship only lasted for 13 years!
Before Jeremy, Carla was part of a controversial radio show called Two Strangers and Wedding where she married fellow costar Greg Cordell. At the time, Carla was 23 and her ‘husband’ was 28 years of age. Talk about a modern take on arranged marriage! Would you tune in?
Unsurprisingly, Greg was suspected to have cheated on her only a few days after their honeymoon and they broke it off. Joanne Scragg, a friend of Carla’s was also said to take part on the radio show but did not make it till the end.

Jez met his first wife Kirsty Rowley while he was working as a recruitment consultant in Bristol.
Together they had daughter Harriet, now aged 29. In 2018, Kyle was over the moon after he became a grandfather for the first time from first-born Harriet.
While on their honeymoon in Maldives, the couple apparently had a huge row which led Kirsty to chuck her wedding ring into the sea. Talk about drama! But it didn’t end there, Kyle’s ex-wife claimed that he had a gambling habit and had been taking money out of her bank account.
This was later confirmed in Jeremy’s book about his long battle with gambling addiction titled I’m Only Being Honest. She also claimed that he had faked a life-threatening heart condition for attention.

While he was busy fixing other people’s problems on this show, Jeremy faced a fair share of scandals in his real life.
Particularly from his ex-wives. But do we blame them?

The ITV show host met Carla when she was a 23-year-old model entering a competition at the BRMB Radio station where Jeremy was working. The pair got married in 2002 and together they have three children Henry, Alice, and Ava.
In 2016, after 13 years of marriage, Jeremy called it quits on his marriage with wife Carla Germaine. You’re probably wondering if it has something to do with their non-existent sex life. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, Jeremy Kyle revealed on an episode that he hasn’t been getting any action in the bedroom.
The ITV host said in an episode while responding to a guest:
“Tell him then! I’ve had enough about talking about it. I haven’t had sex for ages myself.”
Unsurprisingly, this personal revelation from the ITV host has shook the media!
Jeremy Kyle – Losing a testicle
Jeremy and Carla’s relationship aren’t completely without love though. In 2012, Jeremy Kyle was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He discovered a lump one day but put off seeing the doctor because like all of us, he thought he was being paranoid.
“I was in the shower next morning and thought I found something unusual. I thought to myself I should probably get it checked and made an appointment with my GP for the following afternoon.”
After making the first appointment, he had to cancel it as his first-born Hattie was visiting from Australia at the time. Coincidentally the next morning, the cover of The Sun was urging men to ‘check their baubles for Christmas’. It was after this sign that he thought to himself ‘I must see a doctor’ and went that afternoon.
It was during this appointment, just before Christmas, that he received the horrific news. Jeremy then went through an operation to remove one of his testicles. He also went through intense chemotherapy. It was also later revealed that a biopsy of the tumor showed that it was 95% toxic and would’ve killed him in 18 months had it remained.
Luckily, he didn’t delay his appointment any longer. Here’s a PSA to all of you to get your balls checked! Seriously.
During this trying time, Carla and Jeremy’s relationship was said to be lovely as they have just celebrated their 10 years of marriage.
Jezza said:
“Going through an experience like that brings a new dimension to a relationship.”
Carla was said to be by his side through all the operations and chemotherapy.
He also said:
“Carla was amazing, she nursed me and helped me shower. I remember she joked, ‘Man flu I don’t have any time for, but this is a bit different, Jez.’”
Nonetheless, shortly after this the pair announced their split.
Quickie Divorce
But the real reason for the divorce?
Jeremy said:
“We have sadly grown apart over recent years and have been living apart since earlier this summer.”
Carla Germaine was granted a quickie divorce as she claimed unreasonable behavior on her ex-husband’s part. Some of you might be thinking ‘Didn’t she cheat on him with a polo player?’ We’ll get to that later, but Carla’s reason for divorce was the intolerance she found to live with him. Denying that they had simply grown apart.
Jeremy apparently didn’t cope with this so well as he revealed that fellow co-star and therapist Graham Stanier ‘saved his life’.
In a Q&A session, Jeremy told the audience saying:
“I have to say when I got divorced, sadly three years ago, I lived with this man and he saved my life.”
You were probably as shocked as we were to see the notoriously fiery talk show host showing his softer side.
On the same Q&A session, Jeremy revealed that he struggled with his battle to quit smoking after 35 years of puffing on 25 cigarettes a day. The then solemn host also mentioned that he didn’t cope very well with the death of his mother. Nanette Kyle passed away from having a stroke, and after a long battle with dementia at age 85. Following this devastating news, the TV presenter jetted of to Barbados to comfort his father.
Moving On With The Nanny
Two years since his split with ex-wife Carla Germaine, Jeremy has moved on and the drama continues!
In 2018, Jez proposed to nanny Vicky Burton who was previously responsible for taking care of his three children with ex Carla Germaine.
The kicker? He proposed to her on the same Caribbean island where he used to take his ex-wife! And the icing on the cake? Vicky has been said to accompany the family to the same island while she was their nanny!
Even before the proposal, the couple always appeared on luxury holidays in Barbados where the host couldn’t keep his eyes off his girl.
A seething Carla commented:
“I’m in shock. She was my nanny for nine years. She looked after my babies. We were best friends. But I haven’t heard anything from her.”
Ouch!
Friends have also told the press that Carla blames Vicky for the breakdown of their marriage and says she stole Jeremy away. If it makes her feel better, the proposal didn’t go as planned as it started to rain:
“We had gone on a boat trip to this island and I thought ‘This is going to be perfect’, but then it started to rain.”
A slightly salty Jezza has also been reported to make petty jabs at his ex-wife. When congratulated on his latest engagement, he joked saying:
“I’ve learned this the right way, isn’t it the truth you don’t actually ever end up with that person, the right person until you face the abyss?”
“Don’t you have to be alone, and be okay on your own, just get on with your life. You’re not desperate, you’re not looking for someone, then that person finds you.”
Vicky Burton – Nanny turned wife
Vicky Burton, 36, had reportedly stopped being the family’s nanny early 2016 shortly she started dating the reality show host.
The two have said to have been very much in love despite the messiness of the whole situation. Talk about a real-life turnaround for the ex-nanny! Imagine one day you’re cleaning up nappies and the next a celebrity engages you!
A long-time friend of the couple commented:
“They started talking about a wedding early last year, just a few months into their relationship. They are so happy together, so it just felt right.”
If you know, you know. However, their nuptials are on hold as the couple announces that they are preparing to welcome a newborn! Jez told the media:
“Vick and I couldn’t be happier to say we’re expecting our first baby together. We’ve told our families, and everyone is happy.”

The Carla Germaine Toy Boy Scandal
Now what about Carla Germaine? Did she get her happy ending? Well, happiness is subjective, so you can be the judge of that!
Carla was said to have an affair with a much younger lad, England polo player James Carr, aged 25.
Nothing screams mid-life crisis like having a toy boy! Could this be the reason she was holding out on Jezza? The affair began when Carla went to the young lad for polo lessons, which developed into nights out at bars. The ‘affair’ became heated when James was living at a friend’s place opposite Carla and Jeremy’s home.
James said:
“Carla called after midnight asking if I wanted to meet her outside for a cigarette. We had a smoke and a chat and she told me Jeremy was in America. Then suddenly we began kissing. Without talking, I took her hand and led her inside my house.”
Their relationship ended after a few meetings when news started to spread around Berkshire.
What has Jeremy Kyle been up to now?
Besides planning his upcoming wedding and preparing for his fifth child, Jezza has a big TV return next year!
A source revealed:
“Jeremy is a huge ratings draw and he has a great relationship with ITV, who are very keen to bring him back. So it was only a matter of time. An ITV team have been told to ‘find a format for Jeremy’ and that is what they are working hard to do.”
Jeremy made his comeback with The Kyle Files, as well as a pilot for a brand-new show. There have been talks about the format of his show, but everything is still under wraps now. We’re not sure about you, but we can’t wait for his next big show!

Vicky has been spotted proudly showing off her baby bump in a floaty floral print top while doing some shopping. Since they were expecting their newborn to arrive early in that year, she was shopping for baby clothes with a friend!

Even after the news of her ex-husband and ex-nanny, Carla is doing fine! The former model was seen with a mystery male companion at the Royal Windsor Horse Show!
