With the return of a brand new series, it’s time to deliver all the latest X Factor news!

In a bid to pull in ratings and fierce competition with BBC juggernaut Strictly Come Dancing, X Factor has returned with a brand new premise! Instead of every old Tom, Dick and Harry rocking up off the street to audition, this year, producers have decided to spice things up a bit and make it a CELEBRITY X Factor. Ooooh!

With the likes of reality stars Megan McKenna, Wes Nelson and Zara McDermott taking centre stage, Mr Cowell has pulled out all the stops to make sure that this year’s talent show is a success.

Megan McKenna

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when Megan performed her own original song ‘Everything But You’ landing her a spot in the live shows. She went on to wow everyone once again with another original song.

The Love Islanders – ‘No Love Lost’

The stars of Love Island 2018: Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Samira Mighty and Eyal Booker have joined forces to perform as a group.

They went on to perform their original debut song ‘All or Nothing’ in the live show.

Jenny Ryan

Proving she has more than just intellectual skill, Jenny was brought back to the Live shows by Nicole and she commanded everyone’s attention with her rendition of Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst’s ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’.

Kevin McHale

Former Glee star Kevin has been reunited with mentor Nicole Scherzinger whom he has met before after opening up for the Pussycat Dolls in 2007 when he was in boyband NLT.

The actor/singer got everyone in the room feeling ‘good as hell’ when he got up on stage to perform Lizzo’s banging hit.

Ricki Lake

After hosting her very own Emmy-award winning talk show in America for over a decade, Ricki has joined the X Factor to show that she can belt out a note.

She is also known for taking the leading role as Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 film Hairspray. Sadly, the public vote sent Ricki home and she joked to Presenter Dermot O’Leary:

‘I guess I have to stick to my day job.’

Martin Bashir

Journalist Martin Bashir is best known for interviewing the late Princess Diana and has taken part in the celebrity series of X Factor to put himself outside of his comfort zone.

The crooner wowed audiences in the live show with his performance of Wayne Newton’s ‘Danke Schoen’.

Victoria Ekanoye

Prior to the show, Victoria Ekanoye appeared as Angie Appleton on ITV soap Coronation Street. In spite of being an established actress, Victoria admits that singing has always been her number one passion.

She showed off her killer vocals with a cover of INXS’ ‘Never Tear Us Apart.’

Olivia Olson

Olivia Olson is best known for playing Joanna in the nation’s beloved Christmas movie Love Actually. Now all grown up, Olivia has done her rounds on Disney and hoped to pursue her solo artist dream on X Factor.

Sadly, she was eliminated after the first live show.

Former Eastenders star Jonny Labey previously played Ben Mitchell’s love interest Paul Coker in the long-running East End soap.

Known for being everyone’s favourite movie ‘tough guy’, former footballer Vinnie Jones was invited straight to the live shows by Simon Cowell. The actor was supposed to appear in the audition process but tragically, his wife Tanya passed away which meant that he couldn’t take part.

Vinnie did his family proud getting up on stage and nailing the Blues Brother’s classic ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’.
