Love Island Joe Garratt: Everything You Need To Know

Love Island 2019 has kicked off with a bang as this year’s Love Island stars enter the villa. But just who is Mr Joe Garratt?

He’s apparently a bit of a hopeless romantic but just what do we know about the boy?

Swaggering his way into the Love Island villa, I think we all knew he was just Lucie Donlan’s type with his long curly surfer hair. They were the absolute dream team.

The only problem was, she was already coupled up! But this is Love Island and recoupling is a very normal part of life in the villa and Lucie jumped at the chance to make her interest known, stepping forward for Joe and pieing off fireman Michael Griffiths.

What’s his type? What’s his past? And most importantly, what are the chances of seeing him in the final?

The ‘Sandwich Man’

AGE: 22

FROM: South East London

OCCUPATION: Catering company owner and former semi-professional rugby player

He Was A ‘Late Bloomer’

Joe explained how he used to be one of those boys who was constantly put in the friend zone… We all know someone trapped in that poor realm.

“I injured my knee in rugby and had surgery and pushed it a bit far and gained a bit of weight.”

But calling himself a ‘late bloomer’ the cheeky chap claimed he had definitely had a ‘glow up’ over recent years and is now getting a LOT more attention.

“Then I realised, actually I’m unfit and it’s time to be healthy, so started eating lots more fruit and veg and it started falling off. I went from Friend Zone Joe to suddenly, ‘who are you?’.”

“I don’t need to approach girls put it that way”

Who Is His Ideal Girl?

If he had to describe his ideal girl as a sandwich, he would choose :

“pulled pork with chunky coleslaw in a baguette.”

Not taking life too seriously, Joe explains how his jokey personality is one of his best and worst traits as he’s ‘very fun’ but can sometimes his banter can get him into a bit of trouble. Not entirely desirable in a relationship.

His self-claimed personality traits are that he is:

“fun, romantic and laid-back.”

His worst personality traits on the other hand are that he is:

“indecisive, questions everything and is always late.”

He’s A Hopeless Romantic

He divulged:

“I’m looking for a connection, obviously initial attraction is key but the connection is the main go-to.”

Joe continued:

“I’ve always said that love is a super powerful thing. If I genuinely feel that connection, the chance for love, then I’ll go leaps and bounds to get that.”

Will He Be Stepping On The Other Boy’s Toes?

“For me, I’ll do whatever. I’m a guy’s guy, I’ve got loads of guy mates and I haven’t snaked any of my mates out.

“At the same time, if I felt a connection with somebody that was so strong and I was to not go for it, just because a guy was talking to her or seeing her, especially in the villa, I wouldn’t be being true to myself.”

Well, it seems as if Joe might already have some competition as Anton Danyluk swooped in to sweep Lucie off her surfboard.

Move over Adam, Love Island’s got a new bad boy.

At least we have gentleman Callum Macleod to balance it out (although we need him to leave Amber Gill behind asap…).

Joe has previously said:

“All is fair in love and war.”

But will his feelings remain the same if he finds out about this snakey behaviour?

Could he be headed straight to the final?

Anna Vakili – the UK’s answer to Kim Kardashian as she’s being called – is also set to head straight to the final. She is currently partnered with Sherif Lanre.

Currently, boxer Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury, is favourite to win with the bookies but we’ve got a fair few weeks of entertainment before we find out who the next Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer are…
