Heather Trott Murder: Eastenders Most Shocking Deaths

Heather Trott to Barry Evans, Eastenders’ Walford is officially THE most dangerous place in the whole of the country (well in the soap world, anyway).

From tearful departures to whodunits, the heart-wrenching and the downright shocking, soap exits are always memorable moments. Whether it’s a scandalous murder or an emotional farewell, when an Eastenders‘ departure hits our screens, we’re sure to feel it hard.

There are so many dramatic demises in the soap that we’d be here all day if we went through every single one. So, we’ve whittled it down to some of the most shocking deaths to have ever hit Albert square.

From the sadness of Danielle Jones’ death to the murder-mystery surrounding Archie Mitchell, we’ve been forced to say farewell to some of EastEnders’ most popular characters. So, let’s re-live (so to speak) some of the soap’s most gruesome deaths. Call us morbid, whatever…

WARNING: You might sob. Lots.

Ronnie And Roxy

No amount of time could prepare us for the double departure of sisters Roxy and Ronnie in 2017. The deaths still rank as a masterclass of how to make an Eastenders’ fan blub for months.

After Roxy had a heart attack in a swimming pool (on her wedding day of all days), Ronnie jumped in to save her but her best efforts just weren’t quite enough and we had to (reluctantly) say goodbye to our fav sisters as they devastatingly drowned.

Danielle Jones

This one was both untimely AND unexpected. A couple of hours after Ronnie discovered that Danielle was her daughter (dad Archie forced her to give her up for adoption), Danielle was run after by Janine Butcher.

Ronnie sobbed, we sobbed and even to this day we STILL can’t accept her death. Try watching the scene without grabbing the nearest tissue. We dare you…

Wellard

THE most emotional scene EastEnders has ever aired, amirite?

You thought Marley and Me was a tearjerker, didn’t you? Try saying your final goodbyes to Eastenders’ beloved dog Wellard. After serving on the soap for fourteen years, Wellard went to doggy heaven in 2008 and broke all our hearts on his way.

Barry Evans

Even by Janine’s standards, shoving your husband off a cliff is a pretty harsh thing to do. And for a milisecond we thought that we could see slight remorse in her eyes… But Janine did what Janine does best: grinned as casually strolled away from the crime scene, leaving poor Bazza for dead. Ouch.

Bradley Branning

EastEnders went live in 2010 and things spiralled quickly out of control…

After Bradley was falsely accused of murdering Archie, he balanced on the roof of the pub in an attempt to escape the copper’s arrest. He then lost his footing and he fell head first onto the floor below.

Heather Trott

Heather Trott was unintentionally killed by Ben Mitchell after he ended up hitting her with a picture frame, causing her to fall back and her head on the counter, instantly killing her.

Saskia Duncan

When we hear that someone’s been bludgeoned to death, we automatically think of axes, heavy hammers and other terrifying murder tools. So when Steve Ovens murdered Saskia with an ASHTRAY of all things, we were pretty surprised…

Dirty Den

Speaking of unusual murder tools, Dirty Den was killed off by his wife Chrissie using a brass doorstop of all things!

Ethel Skinner

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after the touching moment that dying EastEnders’ star Ethel asked Dot Cotton to assist her in ending her life after she’d been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
