What Does London Tipton Look Like Now?

She was our favourite ditsy hotel heiress but we beg the question: what does London Tipton look like now?

If you were born in the 90s then it’s pretty much a guarantee that you grew up watching Disney Channel and thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it – probably until you were way older than you should have been…

Now us 90’s/00’s kids are in our 20s, the days of Disney are all (well, mostly) in the past and we spend our long days wondering what on earth our long lost TV friends are up to now.

We all, naturally, had our personal favourites but if you’re here, we’re guessing the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody topped the list for you.

The smash hit Disney TV show had us all wishing we were living in a hotel and was – to put it mildly – the best damn show from our childhood (sorry, not sorry Lizzie McGuire).

After their mom landed a job headlining a five-star Tipton hotel in Boston, twin brothers Zack and Cody Martin (Dylan and Cole Sprouse) were living it up in the hotel, playing pranks and pretty much just doing whatever their hearts desired. What. A. life.

When she had the time, the candy-counter girl Maddie would keep a keen eye on the boys to prevent them from getting into TOO much trouble and hung out with her rather unlikely best friend Miss London Tipton.

And whilst we loved them all, we all just really wanted to be little Miss London; she was gorgeous, rich and just downright fabulous.

Did you know, the character of London was actually based on another spoilt hotel heiress… yes, the one and only Paris Hilton!

Thinking about it, they are openly very similar.

Funnily enough, Ashley Tisdale originally auditioned for the role of London, but producers thought that the teen would be a better for role of sweet-natured Maddie Fitzpatrick.

Luckily, Ashley did eventually get to play the role of a spoiled brat when she became Sharpay Evans in High School Musical.

Instead, Brenda song was awarded the role of London without so much as an audition, after the casting directors saw the potential in her to ace the character. Now, we couldn’t imagine it any other way.

Brenda even won two Choice Awards from her role, scooping Young Hollywood Award for Superstar of Tomorrow and Young Hollywood Award for Role Model in 2006.

The actress has always insisted that she aims to be a positive role model for children and says she neither drinks nor smokes, also carrying out charity work – most recently for the Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

In 2008, Brenda was even nominated for Favorite TV Sidekick and in 2011 was nominated for Favorite Television Star but unjustly lost both.

In 2011, hotel heiress London Tipton became the longest running female characters having also featured in the equally amazing spin-off Suite Life on Deck – where they sailed around having an equally amazing time on the SS Tipton – and the Suite Life Movie.

Aside from Suite Life, Brenda has had several recurring roles in shows including Hannah Montana, That’s So Raven and Wizards of Waverly Place.

She even starred in her very own Disney full length feature Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior playing a Californian teenager who learns that she is the reincarnation of a legendary female warrior whose destiny it is to protect the world.

Life After Disney…

After breaking out of the Disney franchise, Brenda continued to have a very steady career.

In 2010, Brenda was cast as Christy in the film The Social Network, a film about when Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook.

The film won both an Ensemble Cast Award and a Phoenix Film Critics Society Award (PFCS) Best Ensemble Award.

In 2012, Brenda played Alissa in the ABC Thriller Scandal staying in the role until 2013, when she moved on to play Daisy in New Girl alongside Zooey Deschanel.

Brenda then had success in 2013, starring in the Fox TV show Dads, a sitcom about two successful video game developers whose lives change when their fathers decide to move in with them.

Brenda played Veronica: assistant to the developers, who is sarcastic and often outsmarts her bosses but sadly, the series was cancelled after just one season.

Since then, Brenda has been cast on several pilots for NBC and CBS also starring in Pure Genius.

It wasn’t until 2017 that the actress was cast in another two movies, playing Pyke in Angry Angel and Lauren in Real Life.

In 2018, she was cast as JJ in the show Station 19. A spin-off of Grey’s Anatomy, the show followed the lives of the firefighters in Firehouse Station 19 in Seattle.

After having a pretty steady acting career since her Disney days, Brenda is still going with several works about to break on to the scene.

Brenda landed the role of Madison Maxwell in the upcoming comedy series about a woman who tries to reconnect with her friends after breaking up with her boyfriend. She will be acting alongside Shay Mitchell – one of the Start of the Netflix hit You.

It was also announced that Brenda will be adopting the role of Jennifer Williams in the Netflix film Secret Obsession. Netflix describe the film:

“A brutal attack leaves a young woman with amnesia, but when her memories start coming back, she realizes she no longer knows who to trust… not even those closest to her.”

Changeland is also due out soon, a film in which she plays the character Pen alongside her current boyfriend Macauley Culkin.

Who Has She Dated?

Famously, during her Disney days, Brenda got engaged to Miley’s brother Trace Cyrus.

Trace was the former frontman of the band Metro Station and proposed to Brenda, who was 22 at the time, back in 2011.

He announced the news on Twitter stating:

“I am excited to say, last week I asked my girlfriend Brenda Song to marry me and she said YES! We are both very excited to be engaged!”

The engagement came at a time when rumours were circling that Brenda was pregnant but it turned out to be no more than rumour.

Miley even tweeted in support of the union:

“@TraceCyrus can’t wait for Brenda to be a Cyrus 🙂 couldn’t be more excited about my ‘sister in law to be’ yay :),”

But then the couple publicly broke up, reunited and continued the tradition on and off for years.

They eventually broke up for good in 2017 after having been together for SEVEN years, just before she started dating her current boyfriend Macauley Culkin.

Brenda and Macauley met on the set of Changeland, due out in 7 June. Brenda later said that the two bonded over being child actors.

She said:

“Child actors, we don’t even get to talk about it, you just look each other in the eye and you nod and we know,”

The couple have now been together for two years. In an interview, Macauley said:

This one’s a good one, so I’m probably going to put some babies in her in a little bit, I mean, we’ve definitely been practising.”

They were recently papped on a double date in Disney, California as they seemed to be enjoying their romantic day out.
