The Vamps star, who is dating 23-year-old model Kirstie Brittain, is set to appear on Australian jungle-based show, and show bosses are thought to be hoping he can wow fans with topless shower scenes.

An insider told The Sun newspaper:

“James is certain to cause excitement with his topless shower scenes and even though he has a girlfriend, producers are still hoping for a jungle romance.”

James will need to jet Down Under soon as ITV recently confirmed the programme will return Sunday November 18.

The 24-year-old star may not be the only campmate with singing talents as former ‘X Factor’ winner Shayne Ward has also been linked to this year’s series.

Other names in the frame are thought to be ‘Coronation Street’ actress Sair Khan, ‘The Chase’ star Anne Hegerty, and football manager Harry Redknapp.

Shayne’s former ‘Coronation Street’ co-star Catherine Tyldesley, and ‘Loose Women’ panellist Coleen Nolan had also been talked about for the jungle, but both have ruled themselves out in recent days.

A message on Coleen’s official Twitter account read:

“Hello tweeties – we can confirm that our Coleen is definitely NOT going into the #imacelebrity jungle this year …. she’s looking forward to watching it from the safety of her sofa tho #DontBelieveTheRumours (sic)”

While Catherine insisted she would be too “terrified” to appear on the programme.

She wrote on Twitter:

“Just to shoot down the rumours… I’m NOT going in the jungle guys. I mean come on?! I’d be TERRIFIED and pretty terrible at those challenges!! Hats off to all those brave enough! (sic)”

This year’s series is hosted by Declan Donnelly and Holly Willoughby, who is taking over from Ant McPartlin after he took the rest of the year off from work following a stint in rehab and a drink-driving conviction earlier this year.
