The only issue is that it shrunk his and the next door neighbours’ kids…

Rick Moranis (Wayne Szalinski) – NOW
You may recognise Rick from other movies like Little Shop of Horrors or Ghostbusters.
What you may notice is that all of his films were in the 80s and 90s; this is because after his wife passed away from cancer in 1991, Rick found it too difficult to both work and be a single parent so is now a full time father.
He assures that he has not retired from acting, he is just more particular with the roles he agrees to.

Diane Szalinski (Marcia Strassman) – THEN
Diane is the wife of Wayne and mother to Nick and Amy. Out of her family she perhaps the least academically intelligent, but supports the rest of her family’s scientific ventures.

Marcia Strassman (Diane Szalinski) – NOW
Marcia is best known for starring in TV shows, such as M*A*S*H, Welcome Back, Kotter and Magnum P.I..
She starred in the movie’s sequel, Honey, I Blew Up The Kid (1992) but was not invited back for the third movie.
Unfortunately, Marcia passed away from breast cancer in 2014.

Nick is the son of Wayne and Diane who also loves science. Spoiler alert: he is almost eaten by his dad!

Robert Oliveri (Nick Szalinski) – NOW
Robert was a big actor in the late 80s and early 90s. He starred in Friday the 13th: The Series and is also famous for playing Kevin, Winona Ryder’s character’s younger brother in Edward Scissorhands.
Little is now known about Robert. He has no social media accounts and hasn’t starred in anything since 1994 – due to this, there are no photos of what he looks like now.
Rumour has it that he lives with his wife and kids in Florida.
Amy Szalinski (Amy O’Neill) – THEN
The daughter of Wayne and Diane, Amy is the love interest of the next door neighbours’ son, Russ Jr. During the film she ends up nearly drowning, but Russ Jr. gives her mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Not long after Honey, I Shrunk The Kids was released, Amy quit acting as the majority of the roles she was offered required nudity.
She is now a circus performer.

Big Russ Thompson is the father of Russ Jr. and Ron who gets suspicious when his children don’t come home and understandably furious when he learns what happens to them.

Nowadays you will probably know Matt best for his appearance in horror-based shows. He played Dr Aldous Leekie in Orphan Black, was Carnage in Netflix’s Altered Carbon and he has also been cast in the Netflix series The Order.

Mae is Russ Sr.’s wife and mum to Russ Jr. and Ron. By the end of the movie, the two families are best friends.
