There are many ghosts who are said to reside in Hampton Court Palace, including at last two of Henry VIII’s wives.

Visitors have claimed to have seen the spirits of Henry’s third wife Jane Seymour, who died after childbirth in 1537 (she can still be sighted in the courtyard with a candle) and his fifth wife Catherine Howard, who was executed for adultery in 1542.

However it is the fifth wife of King Henry VIII who is said to be the wildest of all his wives ghosts…

Catherine Howard, now dubbed ‘The Screaming Queen’, is one of the more regular ghost sightings reported by visitors.
