Growing up in the 90s meant a lot of different things. We were lucky enough to witness the start of the digital revolution and experience the mass of new games and games consoles that were being released. But, we are also so lucky in that we wanted to spend as much time as we possibly could playing outside with our friends.

There was nothing more fun than the stupid games we used to play on the street with our friends after school or on the weekends. Whether that was kerby or knock a door run.

The sad thing is, that the 90s was now over 20s years ago… where has the time gone?!

So, here are 18 things from back in the day that will take you back to those days of being a true nineties kid. Enjoy… this will take you on an amazing trip down memory lane!

1. Space Raiders

There is no better packet of crisps than Space Raiders. We were lucky enough to get a packet of these for about 20p back in the day and the most glorious thing is that we still can get a packet for just 20p these days! We used to buy a packet of these on our way home from school before we sat in front of the telly and watched Mona the Vampire. What a dream!

2. Turkey Twizzlers

If there was one thing we miss from our childhood it would be the turkey twizzler. We are absolutely heart broken that Jamie Oliver got these banned from every single school across the country. We are well aware that these are bad for out, but we can’t help but hope of a world where these make a comeback.

3. This hair braider

Have you ever experienced anything more dangerous and painful than this? We bought one of these because the adverts looked incredible. The thought that we could have a full head of braided hair without having to make the extensive effort to braid it all individually was a dream come true. But, we quickly learnt that our hair began to rip out when this got tangled.

4. Dream chocolate bar

Can we all take a moment to remember this once wonderful chocolate bar. There is nothing in the world that we loved more than this. So, why on earth did they decide to take this off the shelves? We can’t think of anything worse than something this disastrous happening again.

5. Bratz dolls heads

We genuinely thought we were fully qualified hair dressers when we got bought one of these. There was nothing quite like styling the hair on the head of this Bratz doll. I remember once I cut all the hair off one of mine off and my mum was SO angry with me. She never bought me another because I ruined it for myself.

6. Yu Gi Oh! cards

These were just as popular as Pokemon cards, weren’t they? We can all remember that we spent a LOT of money on these cards back in the day. The best part was showing off to your friends when you got a really good one!

7. Basil Brush

Possibly one of the most annoying television shows out there. Boom boom! We were all fans of this show as kids, weren’t we? There was nothing we loved more than getting home from a long day at school and being able to watch fun shows like this. This brings back so many memories. There are still some episodes I remember so vividly!

8. These variety cereal boxes

If you didn’t know which box of cereal you wanted, then your parents would buy these little variety boxes. You used to be obsessed with these as kids… although, you always ended up fighting over the Coco Pops, didn’t you? These were also the perfect thing to buy when you were having a sleepover with all your friends. This meant you could all have the cereal of your choice!

9. Devil Finger

There were so many weird programmes about when we were kids. We used to love every single one of them though. But, one of the weirdest of them all just HAD to be Devil Finger from Stupid. We used to love this show, but I bet our parents thought we were boners when they saw us watching things as ridiculous as this.

10. BNBN Biscuits

We remember the days when everyone was obsessed with these. The sad thing is that they got taken off our shelves at one point, didn’t they? No one knew why?! So, we could only get them abroad. Thankfully, they have been brought back to mainstream supermarkets and we couldn’t be more thankful for this!

11. Art Attack

We used to be obsessed with watching Art Attack when we were younger. There were so many different things that we could make! However, it was a lot harder to find the stuff just ‘lying around’ our house to make some of the incredible things, wasn’t it? Did anyone ever actually make anything they showed on the show or not?

12. Making these cakes

If it was a rainy day or a Sunday afternoon and you didn’t have a lot to do, then your mum would always suggest making these cakes. There were so many different characters that you could get to make, weren’t there? I always remember that the icing on these was ridiculously runny which meant it used to go everywhere. But, we didn’t care because we were making cakes which meant we had treats to last us days!

13. Uno

If there was one card game that every fell in love with, it was Uno. We couldn’t get enough of this when we were kids. Whilst it was endless fun, there was also a lot of arguments that started over this – mainly when you gave the person next to you the 4+ card.

14. Jubbly’s

Every single summer your parents stocked up on these a tremendous amount. There was nothing more refreshing than tucking into a Jubbly when it was boiling outside. We can all agree that these were truly one of a kind and just one was never enough on a warm summers day. The only downfall to these was the fact that the cardboard around the top used to get so wet and soggy.

15. So…? Kiss Me

This was the first perfume that every single girl had back in the day. I can still remember what it smelt like. It was really cheap and we probably used to buy it from either Boots or Bodycare. I remember I used to take this to school with me and I had it in my bag at ALL times if I ever felt like I needed it!

16. Lunchables

If your parents couldn’t be bothered making you a sandwich, you got given a lunchable. But, you definitely weren’t complaining about this. There was nothing more delicious than being able to stack your own mini sandwiches together and eat whatever you wanted. There was no surprise that these were really bad for you!

17. Spyro

This was one of the most classic games from our entire childhood. There was nothing we loved more than playing this, was there? This definitely takes me on a trip down memory lane… I wish I had the time to still sit and play on games like this!

18. BB Guns

BB Guns used to be one of the most painful things that we used to play with. Whilst we thought they were ridiculously fun, our parents never liked it when we played with them. They hurt SO much when you got hit with one and could be potentially very dangerous!
