There were loads of cool things when we were growing up in the 80s! From all of the toys that we used to play with to the amazing fashion… big hair, neon EVERYTHING and pedal pushers.

But, there were some things that tend to stick in our memories more than other things do! This is because some things just bring back the best memories and can’t be forgotten!

Here are 14 images that will instantly take you back to your youth and the greatest era of all time! Enjoy!

1. The old £10 note

Who remembers when the £10 note used to look like this? This was so long ago, but it doesn’t even feel like it was! Time goes so quickly.

I remember getting one of these in my birthday cards from really generous Aunties and Uncles that wanted to give me money for my birthday.

2. Just 17 Magazine

This magazine was just the best. Every girl wanted to buy this because there was posters in the middle of it that we would all stick up on our rooms!

I got my first one when I was 15 and I had to hide it from my mum because I didn’t want her seeing it! This was half the fun of having these magazines.

3. Grolsch bottle tops on your shoes

Who remembers this craze that completely took every teenager by storm? The look to put Grolsch bottle caps on your shoes and wear them out.

I used to make my dad buy this beer to drink just so that I could have the bottle tops on my shoes! He was never happy but he knew that it was the absolute craze!

4. When Lucozade came like this

Who remembers when your Lucozade bottle came with orange cellophane around it? Then you would watch your black and white television through this cellophane.

It was the universal sign that you were ill when your mum turned up with a bottle of Lucozade… then you knew you were getting the day off school!

5. Swatch Watches

You definitely weren’t a kid of the 80s if you didn’t own multiple of these Swatch Watches. They were the biggest trend happening at the time!

Who else remembers these? Did you own one? I still have mine as well because they were such good quality! Great memories from this.

6. Fisher Price toys

Who remembers owning this toy? I loved the one that was a telephone… I loved playing with this and hearing the dial tunes play when I did.

I remember then pulling this one on a string and watching its eyes roll up and down repetitively as I dragged it across the whole floor.

7. This advert for Ready Brek

Who remembers this advert!? I loved this so much… apart from I never actually got the orange glow that the boy in the advert got!

But, it didn’t stop me getting my mum to buy me Ready Brek all the time when we went on our weekly shop! Get up and Glow!

8. The Banana clip

This was an essential for all of us girls… wasn’t it? What a cheap hair product that was so quick for a hairstyle! Perfect for when you were in a rush.

I used to have it in so many different colours so it would go with all my different outfits when I went out. I wish these were still in fashion because I’d definitely be wearing one!

9. Dallas

Who remembers watching this programme on their television?! I absolutely adored the Ewing family and would watch this all the time.

So much happened in this series though, it was actually non-stop! But I suppose that is what made it such a good programme to watch and so addictive!

10. 54321 Chocolate bar

This was the best chocolate bar of our era wasn’t it! I loved this so much…. the ability to have 5 treat all in one.. absolutely delicious.

Who remembers the advert for this one? Such a catchy song! I can’t believe that they do not exist anymore… seriously craving one now!

11. Designer imposter

Every girl had at least one bottle of this because they couldn’t afford the expensive stuff… who agrees? But, thankfully there was no shame in it!

These were sold as cool products to own so it was all fine and dandy. My favourite was the Calvin Klein one that was called Confess.

12. Jelly shoes

Owning jelly shoes was just a big part of your wardrobe. It was essential that you own at least more than one pair of these because they were so trendy.

No one cared that they rubbed your feet or made them seriously dirty when you walked over any slight form of dirt! I wish these were still in fashion because they’re great!

13. Batfink

This series was one of the best cartoons on the television at the time! I loved watching this after school because it was just so funny! Especially with his side-kick Karate!

‘Your bullets cannot harm me, my wings are like a shield of steel!’ I used to quote that line so much and annoy my friends with it all the time!

14. The Barbie dream house

Who owned this? Because you were the complete envy of all your friends if you were one of the lucky enough ones to be given a Barbie Dream House.

This was every girls dream… to complete her whole Barbie collection! What was the point in having a Barbie if she just didn’t have anywhere to live?!
