The 1970s ushered in a new generation of beautiful women. Following the counter-culture movement, women became a little more comfortable letting their hair down and showing some skin. Think: Jackie in That 70s Show, but in real life.

From Hollywood darlings to hippy music stars, the ’70s represents an era of iconic fashion statements and jaw-dropping good looks. Most of the models did their own makeup, struck their own poses, and dressed in vintage, handmade clothing.  The results look a lot more natural and unique compared to today’s runways, which are heavily stylized.
