The NBA was born with a different name: The Basketball Association of America all the way back in 1946 and played under that name for 3 years before merging with the national Basketball League in 1949- birthing the worldwide known name that is the National Basketball association (NBA).

With superstars such as Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Koby Bryant and Steph Curry (not to mention many, many more talented players) blessing the league over the years, it’s easy to see why the NBA is so popular – enticing millions of viewers each and every week!
